After an 18-month hiatus, I’m excited to announce I’ll be returning to radio on June 22 with a new, live program on Salem Radio called The Roys Report! This weekly, call-in program will air Saturdays at 11 a.m. on AM 1160/WYLL in Chicago, and will re-air on Sundays at 7 p.m. on  AM 560/The Answer. (The program will also be available as a podcast at my website.)

Like my previous show, Up For Debate, The Roys Report will feature multiple guests and callers, exploring critical issues related to faith and culture. And like before, I’ll use my skills and experience as both an investigative reporter and a disciple of Jesus to evaluate views, expose lies, and uncover truth. With each show, my goal will be to provide credible information paired with biblical insight so you can discern truth from error.

The Roys Report will be independent and uncensored. In other words, I will be able report any story and any issue that I think the public wants and needs to hear.

However, The Roys Report will not be tied to a debate format like my previous show.  I’ll have the flexibility to explore a topic in-depth with a single guest occasionally. Plus, unlike my previous show, which was owned and managed by the Moody Radio Network, this new show will be owned by my ministry.

This may not seem like a big deal, but it is. This means that The Roys Report will be independent and uncensored. In other words, I will be able report any story and any issue that I think the public wants and needs to hear. I’ll also be able to discuss investigative stories, like my recent ones on Harvest Bible Chapel, on my new program. This will enable me to reach new audiences, as well as discuss these stories live as they unfold. (I discuss my investigative reporting in the video below.)

I am so grateful that God has provided this platform and I am committed to stewarding this one-hour of crucial weekly airtime for the cause of Christ and for the strengthening of His Church.

However, none of this would be possible without your generous support. Since I first appealed to you for help on June 6, you have donated $5,300, including $1,000/month in recurring gifts. I am blown away by your generosity and support and feel a deep sense of gratitude and duty to serve you with this program. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I also want to thank my ministry and business sponsors for making this possible. Judson University has been amazing, not only setting up and managing a fund for my ministry, but also financially supporting the new radio show. Initially, I’ll be broadcasting from Salem’s studios in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. But we’re hoping to soon broadcast live from Judson’s campus in Elgin, Illinois, as soon as funds can be raised for extra equipment and all technical issues tested and tried. Judson President Gene Crume and his entire staff have been an incredible blessing and I look forward to a long and rewarding ministry partnership with them.

I am blown away by your generosity and support and feel a deep sense of gratitude and duty to serve you with this program. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Also supporting me is the Illinois Family Institute (IFI). My relationship with IFI goes back at least seven years when I first attended one of IFI’s annual banquets. Since then, I’ve emceed five IFI banquets and have participated in an IFI statewide tour to educate pastors about how their churches can fight abortion. I am honored to have the IFI’s support and to stand with them to uphold and affirm marriage, family, life and liberty.

I’m also honored to have the support of Marquardt of Barrington. I met owner Dan Marquardt while reporting on Harvest Bible Chapel. As you may recall, Dan was one of the elders publicly censured by Harvest in 2013 for daring to stand up to James MacDonald and call out his ungodly behavior. I am so thrilled that Dan and his brother and business partner, Kurt Marquardt, would support The Roys Report. They are awesome brothers in Christ, plus they run a fantastic car dealership. I like it so much, my husband and I bought our last car there!

Lastly, I want to thank Ken Mariotti and his brothers at Woodland Windows and Doors for their support. Ken is another former Harvest elder who refused to condone sin when he saw it. It’s not surprising, then, that Ken and his company are well-known for their integrity. I couldn’t be more pleased to have Woodland Windows and Doors as a sponsor for the program.

So, thank you, everyone, for your support. I am truly touched and I hope you’ll tune in regularly for The Roys Report. And if you’d like to join those who have partnered with me, just click the donate button below!

  1. You previously said you would also report on churches and ministries that are working as God wants them to. Please, please add as many of those as you can. Then we as Christians can be encouraged, and the watching world can know there are good churches and para-church organizations.

  2. Susan Vonder Heide

There is a mindset out there of “don’t rock the boat” that does not want investigative reporting of anything that might upset the apple cart, but sometimes cool evangelical stars are, to put it gently, not as cool in reality as some of their followers have been encouraged to think that they are. When commentary is discerning, informed, and fair, it can be helpful.

  3. A blessing not being “under” the Moody posse. I look forward to your program, keeping you in my prayers and will also contribute financially. Be blessed!!!
    Post Tenebras Lux.

  4. Wonderful news that you will be back on the radio. I always looked forward to your insightful and discerning comments at the end of your previous show.

  5. Congratulations Julie, I am excited for you. Can’t wait to listen. No doubt the McDonald clan will be calling in trying to set you up. I have full confidence God is going to use you to respond in love, wisdom and BOLDNESS/COURAGE…all to his glory!!!!

Thank you Jesus for your hand on Julie!!!

  6. Hear hear, we are to indeed judge one another with pure hearts/motives as Paul did with Cephas and his hypocrisy in Galatians 2:11-14, thank you for saying so. Good to hear another believer bring this to light. Matt 7:1-6 warns of how we judge and not to be hypocrites, not whether we judge, big difference. I think the Church has fallen prey to the Left and their shame offensive on this topic. We need clear teaching on this. Motives we leave to the Lord, Luke 6:37, but actions are to be examined and called out with a pure heart, if in conflict with Jesus’ teachings.

We also need an understanding that the standard to which we love the lost is not the same love standard we are called to in loving one another. Loving our fellow brothers and sisters is an identity we share as Spirit filled new covenant children of God, I John 3. This standard is not applied in our love for pagans, the lost, it can’t be. Luke 6:27-36 is that standard, not easy and probably even more difficult.
We are called to love both but not by the same standard.
    In any event..

Welcome back to radio Julie, Godspeed & hand be upon you.
