A second lawsuit has been filed against controversial pastor John-Paul Miller, accusing him of sexually assaulting a woman decades ago when she was 14. The alleged assault occurred at a school Miller ran as a “hunting area for under-age females.”

The assault reportedly happened in the late 1990s, when Miller taught at his father’s former Christian school, Cathedral Hall Academy, according to a lawsuit filed last week in Horry County, South Carolina.

This suit comes just eight days after an Indiana woman, “Jane Doe 1,” sued Miller for allegedly raping her when she was a minor, The Roys Report (TRR) previously reported.

The latest lawsuit further details how Miller and his father, Reverend Reginald Wayne Miller, created churches and religious organizations to conceal and further a pattern of “predatory behavior.”

It added that Reginald Miller used the school “to extend his authority over students and staff while securing financial and real estate advantages through misleading representations to . . . the public.”

In the 46-page complaint, a woman who identifies as “Jane Doe 2,” calls out the Miller’s affiliated religious organizations. These include Cathedral Hall Academy, Solid Rock Ministries, and Cathedral Baptist Church. All organizations are located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Doe 2 details several alleged assaults from John-Paul that occurred while she attended Cathedral Hall Academy as a 14-year-old student. At the time, he worked there as a 19-year-old teacher.

“The school was run by Pastor Wayne Miller and his son, John-Paul Miller, who portrayed themselves as devout men of God, offering a faith-based education in a nurturing environment,” the complaint said. “Instead, (Doe 2) walked into a nightmare.”

Doe 2 contends that the school met in a repurposed bowling alley and had no certified teachers, no legitimate coursework, and no structured academics.

“What should have been a place of learning became a place of control, fear, and unchecked abuse,” the complaint stated. “Within months, (Doe 2) became one of its victims.”

John-Paul has been embattled in controversy since the controversial death of his estranged wife, Mica Miller in April 2024.

The death of Mica Miller, 30, was ruled a suicide but garnered national attention for the bizarre circumstances around it. Her husband delivered a strange eulogy, and family members claimed that John Paul had abused Mica and she had feared for her life.

Shortly before her death, the couple had initiated divorce proceedings.

TRR reached out to John-Paul Miller’s attorney, Russell Long, for comment but did not hear back prior to publication.

Victim reportedly punished and bullied after reporting assault

Doe 2 described an alleged assault from Miller that occurred in 1999 following a school chapel service. She held the door for students to leave the chapel and when everyone had departed, she was alone with Miller.

Doe 2 went to leave the room, but before she could, Miller supposedly pulled her into a hug and moved his hands down her back until they touched her “bare butt,” the complaint said.

Doe 2 reported what happened to a teacher and was sent to Reginald Miller’s office. When she arrived, John-Paul was sitting beside his father.

His father “demanded she repeat her accusation,” the complaint said. After she did, Reginald supposedly yelled at her, “You will not lie about my son.”

He punished Doe 2 for “lying” by requiring her to write the words “I will not lie about John-Paul Miller,” 5,000 times.

Following this, Doe 2 was regularly bullied by other students at the school who “took their cues from the Millers,” the complaint stated.

While in a music class taught by John-Paul, two girls allegedly grabbed Doe 2 and ripped open her shirt so they could stuff tissues into her bra, according to the complaint.

Miller was “present and laughed,” the complaint wrote.

Doe 2 also alleges at throughout her year, students slapped her, pulled her hair, shoved her in bathroom stalls, and sprayed bug spray into her mouth and eyes.

“Through it all, (Miller) was there, smirking, encouraging, watching,” the complaint added.

“Raped by demons”

In her ninth-grade year, Miller allegedly sexually assaulted Doe 2 after attending his music class. She stayed after class because Miller said he could help with her struggling grades, the complaint stated.

Instead, Miller allegedly “grabbed her and physically assaulted her by putting his hands under her shirt and skirt and touching her sexually.”

She eventually broke free from his grip and ran out of the room, according to the complaint.

The complaint notes that Doe experienced psychological “horrors” at Cathedral Hall Academy, as well.

When Doe 2 was 16, she brought a book from the Harry Potter series into school. In response, Reginald and John-Paul “dragged” her into a meeting. There, “they berated her, called her a servant of Satan, and told her that if she continued down this path, she would be raped by demons.”

The Millers burned the book in front of her, according to the complaint. They then beat her with a Bible and poured water on her head.

After that, she stopped attending the school, according to the complaint.

The complaint adds that Doe 2 suppressed memories of these events because of the trauma she experienced.

Similarly to the complaint filed by Jane Doe 1, Doe 2 said Mica Miller’s death “triggered (her) realization of the coercion, control, and abuse she had endured at the hands” of Reginald and John-Paul Miller.

Doe 2 is seeking a trial by jury and damages on grounds of negligence, civil conspiracy, assault and battery, and reckless infliction of emotional distress.

  1. It just doesn’t change… Unchecked egos, narcissistic behavior, bullying, and a low view of women. What Bible are these so called, and I use the term loosely, “pastors” reading. Or reading it at all. Hope the law comes down hard…. Sheesh. The rest of us get lumped into this guys “religion.”

  2. All one has to do is watch him and listen to him after he finished his sermon the day he announced to his church that his wife was dead. This dude is a wolf!

  3. This guy is no “pastor.” I’ve followed his story just a bit and as I understand it, he has a history of dealings with minors, prostitutes and adulterous affairs, not to mention alleged monetary crimes. It’s been reported that he’s under investigation by the FBI. They performed a raid on his house. He was also involved in an affair – allegedly – when his wife “passed away” under mysterious circumstances. Shortly before, she had reported his financial dealings to the IRS and filed for divorce. This guy is in a heap of trouble and the expectation is that he will soon be arrested, according to reports I’ve heard. Nasty liar, he is. There are numerous layers to this story, and that’s only what has been made public thus far.
