Celebrity pastor, Bishop T.D. Jakes is now stable after experiencing a “slight health incident” while preaching yesterday, according to a statement posted on his social media accounts.
Jakes, founding pastor at nondenominational megachurch Potter’s House Church in Dallas, experienced the incident near the end of his hour-long sermon.
“During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message,” the statement said. “Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals.”
The statement added, “The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”
The Potter’s House has not clarified if 67-year-old Jakes was hospitalized following the incident or what could have caused it.

Videos of the incident have gone viral online.
The pastor had just finished praying Psalm 19:14 when he paused and lowered his microphone. Jakes suddenly started to shake as he sat on a stool.
People rushed on stage to aid Jakes, while congregants can be heard saying prayers for the pastor. The livestream then apparently cut out.
Late Sunday evening, Bishop Jakes’ daughter Sarah Jakes Roberts and her husband Toure Roberts gave further updates about the pastor on social media.
The couple, who are co-pastors at ONE | A Potter’s House Church in Los Angeles, said Bishop Jakes is already showing signs of improvement.
“Obviously today could have been a tragic day, but it wasn’t; by the mercy of God, by the grace of God, Bishop is doing well, he’s recovering well, he’s under medical care, he’s strong,” Toure Roberts said. “We’re trying to get him to sit down, he’s the strong Bishop that we know, but we really can’t thank you enough for your prayers.”
Sarah Jakes Roberts urged people to keep praying for her father.
She added, “(This) is a reminder that even going into this holiday season, we need to love on the people who you hold near and dear and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God’s given you.”
More than 7,000 people have commented they are praying for Bishop Jakes on The Potter’s House posts.
Keion D. Henderson, senior pastor of The Lighthouse Church in Houston, asked for his community to join him in prayer for Jakes on X.
“Grateful he’s recovering comfortably,” Henderson said. “A mentor to millions, his grace, strength, and dedication to God’s Kingdom inspire us all. May God’s healing hand continue to be with him.”
Best-selling Christian author and televangelist Jentezen Franklin posted on X that he is praying for Jakes and hopes he fully recovers soon.
Just before Sunday’s service, Jakes had promoted the service by sharing a photo of himself on social media.
“I’m ready to share what God gave me with YOU! Our real meal for Thanksgiving is the word of God! Meet me in person or online! 9:00 a.m.,” his post said.
The Potter’s House, founded by Jakes in 1996, has more than 30,000 members, according to its website. The church describes Jakes as a “charismatic leader, visionary, provocative thinker, and entrepreneur.”
Jakes has advised former presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and was a featured speaker at Obama’s 2009 inauguration, the church’s website said.
Jakes has recently made headlines for his supposed connections to Sean “Diddy” Combs, the hip-hop mogul who is the subject of several lawsuits alleging abusive behavior, The Roys Report (TRR) previously reported.
In March this year, Jakes was mentioned in a lawsuit against Combs. The suit, which alleged Combs had engaged in sex trafficking, mentioned Jakes in a list of evidence.
The lawsuit claims to have “irrefutable evidence” that details “how (Combs) planned to leverage his relationship with Bishop T.D. Jakes, to soften the impact on his public image” in light of the allegations against the musician.
No allegations of wrongdoing were made against Jakes in the suit.
Jakes was previously accused of having sex with men at Combs’s parties in unconfirmed reports on social media. He called these accusers “liars” and added that even “if everything was true, all I got to do is repent sincerely, from my heart,” TRR reported.
Jakes urged his congregation not to worry about him.
“Would y’all please do me a favor and stop worrying about me and give God some praise and honor and glory?” Jakes said. “I can feel you . . . I am fine. I’m good. I’m good. I’m the man for the job. I’m good.”

Johnathon & Suzy are telling the truth. They are Christlike. God knows that fake ministries are just after the money and use people. We will all be accountable to God.
I saw the video and it appeared he was having a stroke. Very scary. Praying for his recovery.
Interesting timing. Jakes is about to be exposed for his close “relationship” with P Diddy, and now this. How convenient.
@Troy Stevens,
Nobody knows when a stroke or heart attack will occur, if thta was the case many people would be very careful of how and what they eat.. lnstead please pray for him and also that you and no family member don’t go through a similar health scare like his.
I’m not even a fan or follower of TD Jakes, yet I find it sad this is the initial reaction to his health scare….especially among believers.
Come on. He’s vaccinated. Vaccine injury is all over the news. Around the world people are injured, dying, all from the vaccines. It’s happened to countless athletes, reporters, etc. Not saying that’s what it is, but the truth is coming out. And, he had Fauci at his church, admited he’s had several vaccines, was a vaccination center, his congregation is vaccinated, and thousands have died and are suffering injuries from the vaccine. Just saying……
“Not saying that’s what it is, but the truth is coming out.”
Then what are you saying?
Well, that I can’t “prove” that it’s a vaccine injury, but because of the immense impact vaccine injuries are having around the world, not to mention that exactly what happened to him on stage has happened over and over again, all from vaccinated individuals. People can’t keep putting their heads in the sand about vaccine injuries. Recently, a group of 17,000 doctors all came to the conclusion that vaccines were bio-weapons and are harming people. Japan has issued orders to stop all vaccines and declared them a weapon and harmful. It’s sad, these people need their eyes opened and need prayer and medical help.
Thank you for that response!
With the overwhelming amount of information out there hopefully 2024 is the last year people will be responding to comments like yours as “conspiracy theorist”.
“ Our book, The Pfizer Papers: Pfizer’s Crimes Against Humanity, was published two days ago; it is already a bestseller. This is a book that three governments — the US, the UK and Australia — all sought to suppress. The story of how it came to be is extraordinary — 3250 highly credentialed doctors and scientists under the leadership of one extraordinary woman, Amy Kelly, worked for two years on the 450,000 internal Pfizer documents released under court order by a successful lawsuit by attorney Aaron Siri. In the process these volunteers confirmed the greatest crime against humanity of all time. Read on.”

The bigger question is why isn’t TRR covering any of this – especially when so many articles in the past covered churches and pastors who didn’t comply to the arbitrary demands of government?
It’s never too late to repent in the name of Jesus and have a change of heart and behavior.
