A bizarre prayer by President Trump’s Spiritual Advisor Paula White from an online prayer service last night is going viral on social media and also is being reported by major news outlets like USA Today and Newsweek.

During the prayer, White declares “victory” and calls on angels to “break up every demonic confederacy against the election, against America, against who you have declared to be in the White House.”

White also says: “I hear a sound of abundance of rain. I hear a sound of victory. I hear a sound of shouting and singing. I hear a sound of victory. I hear a sound of an abundance of rain. I hear a sound of victory. I hear a sound of an abundance of rain. I hear a sound of victory.”

White then repeats “the Lord said it is done” three times, and proclaims: “For I hear victory, victory, victory, victory in the corners of heaven, in the corners of heaven.”

The popular preacher then repeats the word “victory” seven times and appears to speak in tongues. She adds that angels and “angelic reinforcement” are coming to America from Africa and South America.

Evangelical author and speaker, Trillia Newbell, tweeted that though she wants “to have fun” with the Paula White video, “I can’t help but remember what I thought about ‘Christians’ before Jesus captured my heart . . . She’s deceiving so many and it kills me. I’m praying for God to protect her congregation and reveal Truth.”

Lindi Li, a Princeton alumna who was a four-time student government president,  tweeted White’s video and stated: “Trump spiritual adviser Paula White leads a prayer service to secure his reelection    Or why I left institutionalized religion.”

In addition to being Trump’s spiritual advisor, White also is one of the leaders of Trump’s Evangelical Advisory Board. When White’s latest book published earlier this year, it was endorsed by high-profile evangelicals, including Franklin Graham, Greg Laurie, Jack Graham, Robert Jeffress, and Johnnie Moore.

Moore, who’s a board member with the National Association of Evangelicals, also owns a public relations company, called The Kairos Company, and has represented White.

The thrice-married prosperity preacher was investigated by a U.S. Senate Committee for financial improprieties in 2011. White refused to comply with the investigation. But the committee declined to issue subpoenas and White escaped penalty.

      1. It’s Linus from Charlie Brown. It’s so much fun to laugh at evangelicals Christians. They make such funny statements.

    1. who knows… ut i want to say as a follower of Christ, that she is not an example of an established, mature believer. The Word of God says Jesus didnt make a spectacle of himself… the women didnt wear red dresses and covet the attention of the world or the leaders of their time. The were quiet, modest and did not flaunt their worldly bodies or beauty. i personally am embarassed at the way Ms White tries to represent sincere followers of Jesus. President Trump needs people focused on God and not the cameras and famous people/money.

    1. Satan know the bible. He also knows how to appear as an angel of light. We are called to speak truth to power. Paula White is a discredited individual, just look her up. We need to pray for her, our leaders, our nation and the world, that they all come to follow LORD JESUS and not wealth, fame, celebrety or things of the world.. “Blessed be the poor in spirit, for their’s is the Kingdom of GOD,” Matthew 5:3. For those who don’t know, LORD JESUS is not a religion, and salvation does not come from religion, works or being good. We are ssved by faith in LORD JESUS.

      1. We are saved by Grace . “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is God’s gift! Ephesians 2:8

  1. I am not sure why this is posted Julie. We are living in strange times – and they are rife with demonic influence. I know this pastor is supposedly part of the prosperity gospel ilk, but the first part of her prayer is quite scriptural, calling on God’s angelic beings to defeat evil forces. Speaking in tongues is not universally frowned upon within the Evangelical world. But what is universally frowned upon is Christians attacking other Christians for all the world to see in a time where we should be more unified than ever under the banner of Christ.

    1. Debbie, I sympathize with your desire for unity. At the same time, Paula White has, and continues, to make a mockery of the gospel. It grieves me to see how non-Christians are responding to this and writing off Christianity as a result. And it really angers me that evangelical leaders have been a party to this chicanery.

For the record, I happen to lean charismatic, but there’s nothing Spirit-filled about this. There’s also nothing biblical about White’s prosperity gospel and her practice of making millions off of poor peoples’ donations. It’s appalling.

        1. Julie, thank you for clarifying that you lean charismatic. Some the readers here, including me lean that way too.

The prophecies I’ve read from other charismatic prophets lean not necessarily toward election wins but what you wrote in your opinion piece about the election, that God wants to purify the Church, He wants a pure and spotless Bride…

And passages like this from Luke:

“And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’”
          ‭‭Luke‬ ‭13:6-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

          2020’s been crazy…
He’s putting fertilizer on us so we can bear fruit, for Him.

A theme of repentance, growing to know Him, and being purified, leaning into Him so we can be afire Like the Church in Acts. Soli Deo Gloria!

      1. I posted an article weeks ago on LinkedIn, stating that Joe Biden would be the next President of the USA. My opinion was not based on Trump, Biden or their supporters or detractors. Nor was it based on any poles or media predictions. It did not matter who counted the votes or who was governor of any state. My opinion, was based on my reading of the Word of God and my connecting the dots. My opinion has not changed, but it is just my attempt to apply God’s Word … I am not a prophet. Nor does God give me any new revelations not found in His Word.

The article gives eight Biblical reasons for my opinion and can be found at:

I believe that Paula White was mentioned by Jesus during his last week on this earth. Jesus said: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ, and will deceive many.”

We are living during the last days before Jesus returns to this earth.

Thank you Julie for exposing those who pervert the Word of God and profit from such perversion.

      2. I used to be Charismatic. What I observed is that it’s practically impossible to discern what is or is not a true word of God (outside of a reasonable interpretation of scripture). Who’s to say White ISN’T prophesying? What’s the criteria? One might say, “White’s prophesy/declaration goes against scripture.” Really? If every prophecy had to repeat an idea from scripture, there would be no need for prophecy, rather a deeper knowledge of scripture. Or, “White got it wrong, so she’s not a prophet.” But Grudem says NT prophecy doesn’t need to pass the litmus test of inerrancy.
I’ve had people say things to me where I think, “How could they possibly know that?” but after learning about cold-reading techniques, it’s not so surprising.
Warfield’s essay on miraculous gifts is a good one to read and think about (and I’m not Reformed). In my opinion the criteria used to evaluate prophecy in the Charismatic Movement is practically useless and “evaluation” simply comes down to a person’s subjective opinion, positive or negative. Better to avoid those who claim the gift of prophecy or help them see the very useful practice of learning to read the Bible well.

        1. “What I observed is that it’s practically impossible to discern what is or is not a true word of God”. I do not believe there is such a thing as New testament prophecy. I believe God can enlighten you from Scripture, but I believe the bible we have today is complete, and we are warned against adding to it or taking away from it. ” But Grudem says NT prophecy doesn’t need to pass the litmus test of inerrancy”. How so? Give a scriptural endorsement please. The one thing I’ve noticed about those who attend brick and mortar churches, is that they turn to authors for direction, over the bible.

      3. What is really needed in America is a good church cleaning. The object of our worship should be God, and not wealth. God has blessed Americans with prosperity, and the life of ease. That prosperity has been a snare for American Christians. We are more concerned with preserving our cush life than true worship on the God of the Bible. Christians in America have never suffered any real persecution, and I include myself in that group, but that’s going to change. Judgement begins with the church, remember that.

      4. This is an example of where Christianity, or what calls itself Christianity is at. When you claim the Name of Christ, so that people who see you think you’re a representative of Jesus, and then to make a mockery of His Name, you defame the Name of Jesus. This guarantees God’s judgement on this nation. The American idea of Christianity, makes a mockery of God in Heaven. Not that all Christians are like her, there are some solid Believers in America, but when judgement comes, the good suffer alongside the bad. Judgement begins with the Church.

      5. Thanks for the reply Julie. I think the work you do is God led and very important for our day and age. It is easy for anyone to be led astray by wrong teaching and God has given us leaders to guide us and uncover the evils around us so that we can discern truth from falsehood.

    2. Debbie, I would not call the thrice married Mrs. Paula Knight-White-Cain a Christian. Superb acting display to focus on her bared shoulder and strap (1 Timothy 2:9) , rapping style prayer (Matthew 6:7) and gobbledygook talk (1 Corinthians 14:19,22, 27-28) Where is the interpretation???! If that was a Scriptural prayer; why the distraction with the man walking back and forth across the stage 7Xs in a T-shirt, shorts, sockless wearing sneakers and a bath towel on his arm? Prayer is a sacred time with the Holy God to come boldly before His throne of grace. Julie Roys is reporting Christian related news as all the other major news agencies. Please focus on the main issues, not get distracted and put your head in the sand.

    3. @Debbie – just a question, Where in Scripture are we to instructed (or is it illustrated) to pray to angelic beings to defeat evil forces? All the references to true prayer that I am aware of, are addressed to God the Father (as in Jesus model prayer “Our Father who is in heaven”) and Jesus did say in the New Testament “if you ask me anything in my name” (John 14:14). Not an attempt to be combative, just a sincere question. Thanks

    4. What people frown upon, is the LACK of decernment chistians show, by letting people like Paula White represent you.

    5. I agree! Just because you don’t agree with her style of prayer which many full gospels do, doesn’t mean she is wrong. There is all kinds of prayers. She is proclaiming in faith that it will happen. This is a type of Faith, that you cannot see. I used to have a hard time with this too, but now I understand it. Please pray for harmony not division. Also, the Bible talks about going to the person who has offended you. Did you talk to Paula White? If not, you are in sin.

    6. Those false teachers and false prophets are not children of God. If they were they wouldn’t dare say what comes out of the heretic mouths. I’m sick and tired of people defending the false teachers when they should be defending the pure gospel. Yeshua isn’t a genie available at there beck and call. We are to serve God not God serve us. These false teachers and false prophets are terrible liars and mock God. They are not Christians. They worship money

  2. Woooow. On the surface it seems very “spiritual” but she is clearly assuming that she knows who God wants in the White House, which is very presumptuous and just a little bit dangerous. Shouldn’t we as Christians be seeking God’s will in situations like this, recognizing that He is on his throne no matter the outcome? Pray victory in a fair election, but more importantly pray that we accept His sovereignty over it.

  3. I’m so tired of celebrity and high-profile Christian “leaders.” Too often they bring embarrassment and negative attention to the church. Those of us in the pews (or restackable chairs) know countless local Christians who are honorable—who lead quiet lives of service to God and His kingdom—and have far more regard for them than these people who have an unhealthy need to be in the public eye.

    1. Glad Lindy Li left “institutionalized religion”, obviously she never heard of or read “the gates of hell will not stand against it” (paraphrasing). Even knowing White is way off the reservation (if she ever been in it), it also caused the pseudo Christian (Lindy) to get out of the reservation for good…….they went away from us because they were never of us (paraphrasing”. As we say in Spanish, “No hay mal que por bién no venga”.
      Post Tenebras Lux

  4. As a conservative Charismatic believer I do not agree with the false prosperity gospel preaching that she is affiliated with and I find some of her teaching way out there regarding the gospel. We can pray for God to intervene according to His will regarding the elections as He intervened four years ago when Trump then.

My concern is why is she wearing something while teaching that exposes her should and a sports bra strap. I also feel that the president’s head spiritual advisor should be a man and not a woman.

    1. It’s an off the shoulder sweater and a tank top underneath, not a bra. While this “prayer” is exaggerated, let’s not add to it with exaggerations of our own.

  5. I had to smile when I read “bizarre prayer”….you folks obviously have never attended a Full Gospel, Church of God or Assemblies of God prayer meeting/service. This is how I often pray for America. Sounds perfectly reasonable and Biblical to me.

    1. Well since Biden is now the POTUS-elect, it is obvious that her inane babbling and gibberish did not work. Apparently God was not impressed and per Scriptures has set up Biden as the next leader.

Apparently all these frauds and their brain dead followers didn’t get the memo that God isn’t a magical genie at your beck and call.

      1. > During the prayer, White declares “victory” and calls on angels to “break up every demonic confederacy against the election, against America, against who you have declared to be in the White House.”

Oh no, her prayer totally worked…

        See what I did there?

  6. Yes, it’s disappointing that a prosperity teacher is in this position. But focusing on this spectacle is like rearranging pictures in the living room when the kitchen is on fire.
What about the criminal activities of Joe Biden, who has sold out America for personal gain, via his son’s activities? What about the horrifying pictures on Hunter’s laptop, showing child sex trafficking? What about President Trump being the most pro-life president we’ve ever have, contrasted with Harris’s brutally pro-choice history? (We all know Harris will be president sometime during Biden’s term, as he is in obvious decline.) What about the historical gains Trump has made for African Americans, contrasted with Biden’s racist history? What about the unsung yet groundbreaking peace deals Trump has brokered in the Middle East? The incredible economic recovery under this administration? I could go on and on.
We are in the midst of a spiritual battel in America, and the church is splitting between light and darkness. Progressive “Christians” are not getting the picture. How about an article on that?

    1. Columba, if you believe all the things you wrote in your comment you are at least as deluded as Paula White.
Christians need to flee from the false teachings of White, Qanon, Breitbart, Metaxas, and their ilk. And not look to Trump (or Biden) as a savior, but seek in our politics the ways and priorities of Jesus.

  7. I concur with you, Lars. Well put.
Having spent most of my life in Africa and Latin America, the spirituality I perceive is not that of trust in our Lord Jesus Christ and submission to Him as our head. The noise she makes is nothing like the speaking in tongues (which I believe to be a legitimate gift still given today) that I have heard in many different parts of the world and by many friends who bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their lives and use the gift of tongues appropriately according to 1 Corinthians. What I hear is more like the hocus pocus of a witchdoctor/shaman.
Remember, there are fallen angels, and I am concerned about 2 things:
    1) The foolish/false image she projects of prayer and spiritual warfare; causing more dissent and confusion among followers of Christ and those who support Trump because of his policies and platform.
    2) The messing around with calling angels from Latin America and Africa. Both of those continents are ripe with outright demonic activity, and she may very well be inviting them to come to the USA.
I have no idea what her theology is or her relationship with Christ, having never listened to her or read her books. I am deeply saddened that her book and position appear to have been validated by men who have the gift of evangelism. This can really cause confusion among those who have come to Christ due to the clear presentation of the gospel by people such as Franklin Graham and Greg Laurie,
    Lord have mercy on us!

    1. if she believes in “tongues” but does not believe in the Holy Spirit, how can you speak in “tongues”? read this in wikipedia. Other allegations of heresy have emerged among conservative Christians, such as that White has denied the Trinity, partly as a result of a video shared by Christian author Erick Erickson that shows White assenting to the viewpoint that Jesus Christ was not the only son of God, in contravention of the Nicene Creed.[22][61] Erickson has stated: The President of the United States putting a heretic on stage who claims to believe in Jesus, but does not really believe in Jesus, risks leading others astray… I’d rather a Hindu pray on Inauguration Day and not risk the souls of men, than one whose heresy lures in souls with promises of comfort only to damn them in eternity.[61

    1. Her performance is the most absurd, ridiculous thing I’ve seen today! Some of us are respectable Evangelical Christians. People like her give Christians a bad name.

  8. Powers and principalities? Of course. The Bible says so. No argument.

But if she is claiming angels are being sent from Africa and South America by Jesus to win the election (“the sound of victory” x like 36) and it doesn’t happen, then she needs to publicly be called out as a false prophet. Any mainline church needs to distance themselves from her, her teachings, any association until she repents.

In the Old Testament false prophets were put TO DEATH. So being called out publicly is a light rebuke compared to that.

Even worse this rant assumes that God is not in control. WRONG Mrs. White. We can pray for God’s will to be done in an election or in our country, but to act like the prophets at Mt. Carmel in a frenzy, exerting your will, your effort to bring about God’s victory is blasphemous.

Don’t even begin to compare yourself to Elisha and the isolated passage with Jehoash. You need to read and consider the TOTALITY OF SCRIPTURE including Romans 13:1 and Proverbs 21:1. No authority is put in place EXCEPT by God. And once they are in place He steers their hearts and actions as He pleases.

Repent. We must ALL he humble before the Lord.

  9. my understanding is that she does not believe in the Holy Spirit. I thought you need to be indwelt by the Holy spirit if you speak in “tongues”????? Found this on wikipedia: Other allegations of heresy have emerged among conservative Christians, such as that White has denied the Trinity, partly as a result of a video shared by Christian author Erick Erickson that shows White assenting to the viewpoint that Jesus Christ was not the only son of God, in contravention of the Nicene Creed.[22][61] Erickson has stated: The President of the United States putting a heretic on stage who claims to believe in Jesus, but does not really believe in Jesus, risks leading others astray… I’d rather a Hindu pray on Inauguration Day and not risk the souls of men, than one whose heresy lures in souls with promises of comfort only to damn them in eternity.

  10. How can any Christian overlook satanic teaching in the name of unity?

So Christians don’t look bad to the outside world?

While I am at it, as a former believer, I like to post financial failings of the Christian world. And many Christians condemn me for it. They don’t like to hear the truth about their heroes.

And that’s exactly what it is; hero worship.

And I am not referring to the prosperity people, either.

    1. None of Julie’s regulars here will tell you not to keep sharing her work, but let her words speak for themselves. I believe that hero worship is something all people lean towards, so we must choose our heroes carefully, and remember that only Jesus is perfect, and deserves our deepest loyalty.

    1. Modern Christianity in large degree, is clueless when it comes to true Christianity. The Christianity of the 1st Century.

  11. I can’t believe Trump ever let this woman near the White House. She’s a total embarrassment not only to Christians but to all clear minded folks.

    1. The Churches involvement in all the wars, crusades, inquisitions and butchery throughout history is the direct result of what happened by combining Nationalism with Christianity. Including the modern history of World Wars and all the horrible bloody conflicts in-between. NONE of it has anything to do with God or the Biblical Teaching of Jesus. God’s Kingdom is Not a Democracy, where the majority rules or people have a right to vote. Under His Authority there is No Guarantee of inalienable rights, only the Duty to Obey. God DID NOT Write or ordain the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights, man did. In His Kingdom Liberty consist of Freedom from the SLAVERY of SIN. Real Christians Do NOT fight to be free from tyranny, they CONTEND for the Faith. NO WHERE in the Bible do you find Saints engaged in a struggle with the State to overthrow their authority and establish a new Government. In many aspects Rome was oppressive and dictatorial, the Government was corrupt and filled with evil men. For many years they killed the Saints for Preaching Jesus. But you Cannot find one Word in the New Testament, written by the people who were under this tyranny, spoken against the State or in favor or overthrowing the Government.

    2. Gregs, keep in mind Trump is not a longtime Christian with discernment. I am a supporter of Trump as President but am not sure if he is really saved. Regardless, I don’t think he has the spiritual discernment and biblical knowledge to determine false teaching.

  12. Paula White is a pentecostal speaker. Her prayer of authority and boldness is exactly how christians should pray. Her prayer is not what’s sad. The true sadness is christians not knowing God’s word. Many christians do not even know whom they serve and His truth. Christains leave it up to the church leaders to tell them how to live as oppose to being in God’s word.

The saddens my heart has is reading the post “I could have fun with this.” Well praise God sweetie you are so mighty and will still pray for Paula White. Maybe you should pray for those who may possibly be lead astray by MANY so called christian leaders molesting kids, stealing millions from the church, elders being fearful to correct the pastor…the fear of man more important than God.

I’m not angry, I’m just tired of the division in the body of Christ. Yes, I understand your point in PW’s prayer and people hoping in it rather than God. No need to break it down for me.

  13. Folks – please, lets be honest! This kind of nonsense has ZERO to do with Biblical Christianity, it is demonic and tremendously dangerous to the non-Christian world because it makes them revolt against anyone who comes with Biblical Truth. Why do so many men – including Graham endorse this garbage?
