Conference Mixes Worship, QAnon & Allegations of COVID-19 “Fear Porn”

More than 4,000 people packed an auditorium at Rhema Bible College near Tulsa, Oklahoma, last weekend for the Health and Freedom Conference—an event mixing Christian worship, promotion of QAnon, and messages decrying COVID-19  “fear porn.”

The conference was hosted by Clay Clark, a Christian businessman who recently started speaking out about rigged elections and COVID-19. According to conference organizer Aaron Antis, 50,000 people asked for tickets, but only a fraction could fit in the venue.

Leaders speaking at the conference included General Michael Flynn, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, several pro-Trump pastors, an assortment of doctors, and many others. Video of the event was livestreamed and later posted online. Many of those videos have since been removed, but not before excerpts were grabbed and posted on social media.

Speakers argued that Christianity and America are under attack by sinister forces; masks and vaccines will destroy religious freedom or control people; and to save America, people needed to “fight back.”

Clark emphasized the apparent illogic of social distancing at airports before packing into planes, and inconsistent statements of Dr. Anthony Fauci. Others pushed conspiracy theories.

Trump lawyer Lin Wood told a cheering audience that he believed in QAnon—a conspiracy theory contending that elites, who are pedophiles and Satan-worshippers, are working to destroy America.

“(Critics are) trying to attack me because they can’t attack Q. Q is the truth! This is about the children, for God’s sakes!” said Wood.

Wood added that those behind the pedophile rings should be subject to capital punishment.

“Send them to jail. Put them in front of a firing squad,” said Wood. “They are committing acts against humanity. The penalty for an act against humanity is death. Take them out!”

Wood also argued that Trump won the 2020 election and that the Illuminati—a group of secret societies bent on establishing a New World Order—were out to destroy America.

Conference speakers also framed “religious freedom” as the right to refuse COVID vaccinations and to not wear a mask. Mistakes by authorities in managing the pandemic were ascribed to intentional malice by authorities.

“The models that said that 2.2 million people would die, those are false,” said Clay. “Intentionally false.” Clay added that reporting on the pandemic was “jack-assery” and “fear porn.”

He also contended that COVID-19 tests are falsely calibrated and that COVID-19 treatments are 100% effective. All the COVID-19 deaths are actually deaths from other diseases, he suggested, adding that “Dr. Fauci is a criminal.”

Clay bolstered these claims with information from doctors at the conference. One of the  doctors, Andrew Wakefield, was kicked off the U.K.’s medical registry for research fraud. Another, Jim Meehan, was sued for defamation by another doctor because Meehan claimed the doctor didn’t inform parents about vaccine risks.

Other pseudoscientific claims at the conference came from author Mike Adams, who has written books on a secret conspiracy plan to bring about the apocalypse.

Adams said that molecules around the world are connected by “morphic resonance,” which allows humans to transmit information psychically. He added that censorship and cell phone radiation is being used to block this “morphic resonance” and to suppress “awake, aware, enlightened people” from working together as a group.

The conference also featured a shofar blowing contest. These ancient Jewish horns traditionally announced war, the  year of Jubilee, the arrival of Shabbat, holy days and other important events.

During the conference, the audience chanted “USA!” together and offered up “a round of applause for Jesus Christ” at Clay’s request.

The conference ended with a public mask-burning event.

  1. HBO ran a series on QAnon in March. If you can handle the foul language (there is quite a bit), you will come away with the idea that Q is totally false, and that people who follow it/him/her are either to be pitied as the most duped in history, or should be locked up in a place for the mentally ill. The people who run the “boards” seem to be only in it for publicity and the money (if they can get any from ads), and the followers are desperate for any “truth” that Q will dispense for them as they try to find “crumbs.” A number of people who are interviewed have left everything to further the cause of Q, actually seeking donations from those who watch their videos so that they can support themselves. I personally believe that Q and all the other many conspiracy theories are Satan’s ploy to distract the church from what it should really be doing-evangelism and discipleship.

  2. What is sad is that there is or was a group of powerful men who used and abused younger boys back in the 80’s.One of the child actors talks about it once in a while. Him and his pal were popular back then and he showed a picture of them with a group of men at a party-he stated, “just look at all the men surrounding us” and left it at that. My suspicion is a lot of pedophilia and abuse is still going on because child actors are prime targets. This QAnon is taking some real truth and warping it.

It is sad as some of the men were or still are powerful in the industry and it is one area that the Entertainment Complex will not address. There was a documentary that could not find a major release as it contained children and parents testifying on how they were duped and abused.

We all need to be sober-minded as the Lord will one day reveal that which is hidden. He had particular harsh words for those who abused children.

  3. I remember a time when abortionists promised that they never would support abortion on demand or late term abortions, that same sex marriage would never lead to pressure on churches to change their beliefs, that trans hormone treatments and surgeries would never be allowed for minors or without parental consent, that suggestions that affirmative action would lead to quotas and minority racism were ill-founded, that gender rights would never be a threat to compromise Christian institutions like colleges, adoption agencies, etc., that regulatory, legal, and professional organization force would never be applied to Christian professionals to violate their conscience, that the re-defining the first Amendment to mean freedom from religion would create a more tolerant, diverse environment, that Tech internet services would never censor political speech, an election, or a President, that in a few months after we bent the curve for covid life would go back to normal, that spy agencies would never turn surveillance tools on Americans, that the FBI would never lie to a court, and that hate speech laws would never impinge on political free speech. All the people that objected to these assertions were called in their time alarmists, racists, homophobes, cultists, and Nazis. What a difference a decade can make.

These folks at this meeting have no unique claim to pseudo-science. Pseudo-science resides in high places. I mean the current idea that sex is a cultural construct but race is innate! That we can cure racism by practicing racism! That anorexic dysmorphia is a sickness to be treated, by gender dysmorphia a normality to be praised! That a White person rapping is cultural appropriation, but a Black person playing Mozart or performing as Alexander Hamilton isn’t! That White math is holding back Black students! That a transwoman has no advantage over a biological female in sports competitions! That all genders can have periods! One might even argue we live in a pseudo-science, magical thinking, delusional age. So why can’t these people play in the same sandbox?

It seems that these days one can’t imagine a conspiracy bad enough that it won’t come true. In this regard, these folks have my sympathy.

      1. I looked in vain for some examples of paganism or false gospel. Pseudo-science, far out ideas, non-mainstream political ideas, etc., Absolutely. Would I be at home there. Mostly no. Paganism looks more like this: https://www.city-journal.org/calif-ethnic-studies-curriculum-accuses-christianity-of-theocide?fbclid=IwAR2WUMiAIj0kBzpczghFYafIFHT4MH1kxV1qNBxyKel1Y333WMhLKpyRxHg

From the article: “This religious concept is fleshed out in the model curriculum’s official “ethnic studies community chant.” The curriculum recommends that teachers lead their students in a series of indigenous songs, chants, and affirmations, including the “In Lak Ech Affirmation,” which appeals directly to the Aztec gods. Students first clap and chant to the god Tezkatlipoka—whom the Aztecs traditionally worshipped with human sacrifice and cannibalism—asking him for the power to be “warriors” for “social justice.” Next, the students chant to the gods Quetzalcoatl, Huitzilopochtli, and Xipe Totek, seeking “healing epistemologies” and “a revolutionary spirit.” Huitzilopochtli, in particular, is the Aztec deity of war and inspired hundreds of thousands of human sacrifices during Aztec rule. Finally, the chant comes to a climax with a request for “liberation, transformation, [and] decolonization,” after which students shout “Panche beh! Panche beh!” in pursuit of ultimate “critical consciousness.”

The chants have a clear implication: the displacement of the Christian god, which is said to be an extension of white supremacist oppression, and the restoration of the indigenous gods to their rightful place in the social justice cosmology. It is, in a philosophical sense, a revenge of the gods.”

Looking for the advance of paganism and idol worship? Go no farther than the California Public Schools.

        1. This website is about the church, not the public school system. You clearly have an axe to grind, but your screed is completely off-topic.

        2. I think I see the point of On The Other Hand that Lea is glancing past. You can see spirits against the spirit of Christ in any place, such as the spirit of antichrist trying to work through the government and parts of society, or the spirit of fear trying to work through this Health and Freedom conference…I’m not sure if the “paganism” Lea is referring to, but the Gospel of Christ seems to be getting mixed with the spirit of fear at that conference. Yet you do see the spirit of antichrist at work in the pagan chanting trying to be introduced in the the CA public schools. The danger there is in such chanting, you open yourself up to dark spirits, if you will, to the demonic. Christians must be on watch these days, whether at church, at a school, a conference, or society at large. These days take discernment to see the powers and principalities at work in our day, which we have the power fight against through the spiritual weapons given to us (eph 6)

  4. If only Wakefield – whatever the parameters of where he and parts of commerce are factually at – had known better than to throw his lot in with Haginists. “Critical” was mentioned (and Aztecism hardly respects humanity), well I and my companions were not critical when we were Haginists. Haginism merges with Copelandism which goes down well with the Virgoists and (being purpose-driven) the RCC.

By utter contrast sobermindedness, equality in spiritual gifts, and intellectual generosity affirms ordinary people. (I insist I am of “miscellaneous” “ethnic-it-y” and can prove this at length. You need more quantity of “critical race theories” plural, and not just only the one exclusively owned one.) Haginism and depriving blacks of true mathematics (and maths are often execrably badly taught, excluding everybody), are equally human sacrifice.
