A diverse group of over 300 pastors and evangelical leaders have released a public declaration, challenging Christians to “turn from false prophets and idolatry of political power” in advance of Tuesday’s presidential debate.
The statement titled, “Our Confession of Evangelical Conviction,” affirms seven core beliefs framed to reject “evangelical” as a political, rather than theological, label. According to a press release, the statement “marks the largest and most unified evangelical effort in decades, bridging denominational and theological differences.”
Skye Jethani, co-host of the popular Holy Post Podcast and lead author of the statement, said in a press call on Monday that the statement’s purpose is “to remind everybody of what our primary allegiance is. It’s to Christ and His gospel, to the values of His Kingdom.“
Jethani spoke alongside evangelical leaders from diverse ethnic and theological traditions. Organizers stated that members of thousands of evangelical churches, totaling over four million congregants nationwide, have been presented the statement and many have affirmed it.
Gabriel Salguero, president of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NALEC) and a pastor in Orlando, Florida, commented on how current politics has affected the pulpit. ”We’ve seen church splits,” he said. “We’ve seen pastors afraid to declare the truths of the Sermon on the Mount because it may be seen as too polarizing or political.”

Salguero noted that the statement has been distributed to the network of over 3,000 congregations he leads. He added that denominational leaders affiliated with Evangelical Covenant Church, the Assemblies of God, and Vineyard U.S.A. have also signed on.
Raymond Chang, president of the Asian American Christian Collaborative, expressed his network’s support.
“The beauty of this (statement) is that it brings so many parts of the evangelical church and community together,” he said. “In a politically divided and fractured time, (we) declare that Christianity cannot be sold off to partisanship.”
Dr. Christina Edmondson, co-host of popular podcast Truth’s Table, stated that leaders of two historically Black denominations, The Church of God in Christ and the National Baptist Convention, have also shared the statement with member churches.
Salguero underlined the statement’s nonpartisan nature.
“Nothing in Scripture supports that God is supporting a candidate,” he said. “We need to be careful to not take the Lord’s name in vain . . . Nobody gets a pass—not Democrats, not Republicans, not independents.”
A rejection of fearful politics
Several speakers on the press conference emphasized how polarized political media has fostered fear among evangelicals.
Dan Boone, president of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, talked about how media coverage has impacted his 100-year-old father, a World War II veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
“I have watched his consumption of media across these last years literally steal the joy of a man who was a gentle Christian in every way,” said Boone. “Now when I talk, nothing but fear pours forth from him.”
Similarly, best-selling evangelical author Karen Swallow Prior said, “There is so much fear in the political realm right now. As evangelicals, we have an opportunity to show what it is like to lead through love rather than fear.”
She added: “The Bible says that the world will know us by our love, one for another–not by our love for particular political candidates or particular policies, even though those are important.”
Chang agreed that he has seen fear prevalent among Asian American pastors during this politically polarized time. “One of our hopes is that this (statement) will help lift people’s eyes up towards what we’ve all declared as our central and common truth,” he said.
Reflecting the grassroots nature of the project, various producers are working on ancillary resources that they’ve self-funded.
VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer, Jethani’s co-host on The Holy Post, has produced a short film exposing the absurdity of fear-based politics to young viewers. And nine songwriters collaborated in a Nashville studio on a companion music album titled “Return to Love.”
Praise and critique
The 1,270-word statement declares tenets of evangelical beliefs—such as affirming the Bible as authoritative—along with an explicit rejection of one’s faith being politically driven.
Richard Mouw, a theologian and former president of Fuller Theological Seminary, said the statement reflects convictions he considers to be “altar call” beliefs. “Do you believe that Jesus Christ is our only allegiance, that his lordship is over all, yes or no?” said Mouw, paraphrasing the statement. “We need to challenge people with that.”
Prior underlined how the statement aligns with the Bebbington Quadrilateral, a proof test of beliefs about the Bible, the cross, religious conversion, and religious activism, originated by historian David Bebbington. “All of these things should transcend our partisan politics,” she said.
Yet, evangelicals associated with Christian nationalism criticized the initiative.
Lance Wallnau, who has been leading a multi-state tour to mobilize Christians on behalf of President Trump, criticized the statement on X as “shaped by AntiTrump people.”
Similarly, Lucas Miles, an Indiana pastor and senior director of Turning Point USA Faith (TPUSA), dismissed the statement, posting on X that it “elevates human activism and social justice above the authority of Scripture.”
In comments to TRR, Napp Nazworth, executive director of American Values Coalition, called the evangelical confession “a counterpoint to the work of TPUSA.”
He elaborated with an example. “TPUSA will later this year have Tucker Carlson as a guest speaker—someone who recently promoted a Nazi apologist on his podcast.”
Nazworth added: “These are false teachers who seek the partisan mobilization of evangelicals based upon fear and hate. No pastor should be going to TPUSA for their political discipleship.”
Signers defend nonpartisan nature of statement
Jethani contended on the press call that much criticism of the statement as “anti-Trump” or partisan in some way has nothing to do with its substance.
“I think it’s when people look down the list of signatories, there are names on there that they don’t like,” he said. “It’s a little bit of a Rorschach test. It’s nothing about the statement. It’s about what people are bringing to it.”
However, one leader behind the statement is Eric Sapp of Public Democracy, a market intelligence company involved in politics. Sapp’s now-shuttered communications firm Eleison Group, had a progressive group, Faith in Public Life, as a client. And the former president of Faith in Public Life, Jennifer Butler, is leading faith outreach for the Harris campaign.
A recording given to The Roys Report (TRR) included a behind-the-scenes discussion with Sapp and speakers prior to the beginning of the press conference. On that recording, Sapp is heard telling speakers to tell reporters that there is no organization behind the statement.
In an interview with TRR, Sapp explained that he addressed leaders on the call to ensure it remained bipartisan and not tagged to any group.
He added that he “met some of these leaders working on a recent effort on the child tax credit, which was with conservatives. But my work on that project or in Democratic circles is separate from this broad coalition.”
Sapp also said he has posted about Evangelicals for Harris but is not paid by that group or the Harris campaign.
Similarly, Nazworth told TRR: “Some people who are supporting Harris have signed this statement. I’m not backing that campaign, and many signers are not. There is no one calling the shots or telling people what to do.”
Nazworth added that Sapp approached him months ago, recognizing that an effort like this would need to originate from a conservative standpoint.
A former Christian Post editor who now helps educate church leaders, Nazworth said about 20 leaders, including himself, were involved in coalescing the diverse initial signers of the Evangelical Confession statement.
“Everyone is doing this on their own time,” said Nazworth. “This initiative is about evangelical church leaders thinking long-term and big picture. It’s not supporting any candidate.”
Other Christians who examined the Evangelical Confession felt it wasn’t progressive enough.
Dave Lester, co-host of Veterans of Culture Wars, said he appreciated that the statement “allows (that) believers can vote different ways, while we maintain the importance of gathering together before Jesus and welcoming each other to the communion table of His grace.”
But he said Scripture “often involves issues of justice, particularly concerning the poor and marginalized. God gets angry when people who are downtrodden are rhetorically dehumanized and treated horribly. I wish this was communicated more definitively in the statement.”

This is a great start – though decades late – as white American evangelicalism has been turned into a hot-bed of partisan politics – through Paul Weyrich and others – starting activism with defending segregationist evangelical educational institutions – and wanting to maintain their tax deductions despite oppressing certain Americans being able to participate.
A superb review via historian Dr Randall Balmer (an episcopal priest)
“Abortion had nothing to do with the genesis of this movement.” It is “a movement created to defend racial segregation in evangelical institutions.”
That was a hard fact for me to accept.
But it is 100% true.
Signing pledges and solidarity commitments are not biblical. Just more strife created to confuse immature followers of Christ who are sincere in trying to stand with something tangible since the modern church is a dismal failure. Just follow the Holy Spirit home to join the remnant that can’t abide hype and manipulation.
I have to agree with what you said and this is the place we have to get to because what we’re doing isn’t making one thing better. I’ve removed myself from the fray and have simply aligned my beliefs and conduct to that which is taught in the Bible and it’s produced peace and more comfort than I could’ve imagined.
As a non-believer it is amazing to me how anyone, let alone a person who believes in Christ’s message, can see Trump as the better alternative. I guess this is part of the mystery of faith. Or the depth of fear of the other. Regardless, there a far too few people on either side stating this fact baldly: we all have to live with each other.
I have to agree with Jethani’s statement. What we have here is pretty much an ink-blot test that isn’t going to persuade anybody. I doubt there is any persuading left to be done, although perhaps there is some change to be found within a growing population that’s tired of the noise.
What is interesting is what is not included:
1. Jesus is the only way to God (note how very carefully it did not say that)
2. God created marriage between one man and one woman (direct quote of Jesus Christ)
3. Sexual expression is only right within the covenant of marriage (also Biblical).
4. An fetus is a human person in the image of God. (See John the Baptist leaping in his mother’s womb)
Are these statements considered partisan by the signers?
Relationship with God starts in the heart and moves outward. Compelling people to be ‘righteous’ with external laws didn’t work for the Pharisees then and won’t work to make anyone ‘holy’ now. At best it will create a bunch of whitewashed tombs.
Jesus said a good tree only produces good fruit and a bad tree only produces bad fruit. Put Kamala and Trump side by side and look for the fruit of the spirit, not their policies. Which of them is more kind, just, gracious and merciful? How do they speak about other people? How do they treat the poor, the marginalized, the sick? Who is more loving? Which of the two is more focused on unity and peace? Who are they each fighting for? Who is more truthful? Alternatively, who is more proud, arrogant and self-centered? Who acts more like Jesus?
Just like the devil tempted Jesus with a shortcut to glory when he promised him the nations in exchange for worship, Christians are choosing to vote for Trump because he promised to give them their agenda. It’s transactional, self-serving and it’s gross. We are literally selling our birthright for a bowl of soup.
I don’t personally agree with many of Kamala’s policies, but her heart is aiming at love. God can work with that.
Blessings
Well said Ben. A hundred times yes.
Ben, Kamala’s heart is aiming at love??? What??? Love rejoices in the truth. The women is the enemy of Truth. She is west coast elite that hides behind manners but has support polices that even cause moderate democrats to now say they are voting for Trump. I understand people need to be born again to have a true change of heart. But if you have lawlessness in a country, it will go to hell. There is nothing unbiblical in wanting and seeking and voting for laws that are more biblical or closer to biblical. Most people who vote for Trump, like myself, aren’t fans, Even Bill Maher, a life long liberal has the common sense to see this now. he says – you can hate Trump but you cant hate those who vote for him. Can we please stop pretending that the choices we have to vote are somehow define are Christian allegiance, We ain’t living in Rome. If you think Kamala is the better choice, go for it, I want judge you for it. But I ain’t saying Trump is God’s choice, neither should people say Kamala is -She ain’t no model of love – and that’s for sure!
Your post conflates the church and the government. The church is about making individual people holy, and if you are selecting a pastor or church leader then these personal attributes come into play.
The government is about compelling people to uphoald a certain minimum standard of righteousness. We don’t say that laws against murder are whitewashing tombs. Nor do we say laws against child abuse are whitewashing tombs.
Fortunately, God, in the Bible revealed not only principles for individuals, but also for societies. For example, even before the Law, He gave Noah the prohibition on murder and the requirement that people be punished for murder.
In this light, the personal traits matter less, and what they are advocating for matter more. If you look in the Bible, Zedekiah seems like fairly nice guy, yet he is condmemned as a king, and David many times seems like a jerk, yet he is celebrated as a king.
And if you look at Law and Love, God actually spent time establishing the Law (OT), before He established Love (NT).
Bill Smith, Kamala has proven again and again to be a liar. That is not love, unless we love the Devil.
Rob – that’s not a stone anyone standing in – or anywhere near – the glass house of Trump should throw.
Of course she has. We all have! But as you speak of “having proven to be a liar” – did you verify that or do you have proof or specific evidence? It’s easy to say someone lied or is a liar as long as there are no provable facts to be brought forward.
They are both wonderfully made image and so are you Rob and all the others writing here.
The government is about compelling people to uphoald a certain minimum standard of righteousness.
That has never been what our American system of government has required.
Our Constitution never once mentions any Christian code of righteous conduct and certainly never demands obedience to it by force of the government.
As a matter of fact it gives every American the right to reject the Christian code of conduct.
The Christian code of conduct includes the 10 commandments which have a prohibition on murder.
Can a person reject that code of conduct?
If you are a Christian, you have to believe that ultimately morality is grounded in God, and as laws are grounded in morality, all just laws are grounded in God, and therefore ultimately in the Christian code of conduct.
Of course, there is a debate which of the principles are the minimum set that should be enforced on all society. For example, the prohibition on murder should be enforced.
Their character is reflected in their policies. So, you can’t ignore the policy. Someone can lie to your face and pretend to be moral while working against you behind your back. I’m not a fan of Trump. However, I believe that what you see is what you get. With Biden and now Kamala, you have to look behind the curtain. Their policies are ungodly and a threat to our children, our culture, and the church. You are very naive to believe that Kamala is expressing the fruit of the Spirit.
Thanks for sharing your homepage, Dr. Wallace
Ben Barkley – love in the name of lying is non-existent. What kind of hogwash is this?
Kamala’s policies win on the “good fruit” test too. Even if your main voting issue is abortion- Abortions had been going down since Roe v Wade was enacted UNTIL trumps presidency- his policies cause increases for the first time ever, and since the Dobbs decision, there has been a net increase. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/24/health/abortion-access-inequality-one-year-post-dobbs-wecount/index.html
If you want to ACTUALLY decrease abortions, vote for Dems. Vote for Kamala.
I see you are here pushing more moral relativism. Your logic is severely flawed. “Let’s vote for someone who supports abortions so abortions will go down.” That’s a logical fallacy every time you type it out. If you vote for Kamala Harris, you support abortion. Period. There is no pass on it, no rationalization, no avoiding it. You support abortion if you vote for Harris just as surely as if you are standing outside a PP clinic and handing people fliers. If you did not support abortion, you would not vote for her. And as an added bonus, at no extra cost to you, you are telling God you endorse sin. You cannot separate yourself from the consequences of your vote, morally or spiritually. If you vote for a candidate that openly supports sin, you also support that sin, and you do so directly with your vote. This is not an ephemeral issue, nor is it a political issue. For a professing Christian it is a spiritual issue and every single post you make on this subjects tells people reading them that what you openly support are things God calls a sin.
Eddie Cremer – and all pretending “abortion” is the deal breaker,
“If you vote for Kamala Harris, you support abortion. Period.”
Simply not true. You do not have to endorse abortion to respect that it is a complicated issue. Murder is illegal. Theft is illegal. Assault is illegal. Rape is illegal.
Even speeding is illegal. If it was so clear cut, it would not have been legal for “fifty years.”
So, is an abortion at 6 weeks still an abortion?
Is an abortion at 15 weeks still an abortion?
Does allowing it to go to the states, where it might become legal, allowing abortion to take place in that state?
If you answer “yes” to any of those questions, and you are voting for Trump, then YOU “support abortion. Period. “
“you are telling God you endorse sin. You cannot separate yourself from the consequences of your vote, morally or spiritually. If you vote for a candidate that openly supports sin, you also support that sin, and you do so directly with your vote. “
Applies to you too – by your assertion.
Eddie Cremer,
Your points are well taken. It’s encouraging to know others agree with my main point regarding this article: If you vote for a candidate knowing what they support and what their policies are, you vote for what they support and their policies. If their policies are based on lies and corruption, you are voting for lies and corruption. If their policies support abortion, you are voting for abortion. It’s simple logic.
And if you do this knowingly, it’s simply logical to question your allegiance to the Bible and Jesus Christ.
I think you are totally wrong. I’m not looking for the fruit of the Spirit in my politicians, but at their policies. How can a woman who advocates for the killing of the unborn up to the moment of birth be loving. She should be defending the most vulnerable among us, not agreeing to their demise, and winking at sins firmly declared in God’s Word to be an abomination.
Our minds are to be renewed by the Word of God, not further polluted by the world.
There is no such thing as abortion after birth. That would be murder. So you don’t kill babies that are full term.
Very good comment Ben Barkley you got it right God bless you I’ll be with you I know he will Jesus is coming ✝️
Ben:
Your words: “Her heart is aiming at love…God can work with that.”
Actually, God can work with any and all of us. And, no, her heart is most definitely NOT aiming at love. She has contributed to the deaths of innocents at the hands of illegal immigrants simply because she opened our border and refused to do anything to protect Americans. Even today, we are reaping the horrors of her actions.
That is NOT “aiming at love” on any level. President Trump actually has a record of improving our nation. I will go with that rather than an appearance of goodness with evil at its core.
You cannot erase what she has done, nor can she. It is written in the history books permanently. There is no “unburdened by what has been.” She has committed crimes against my country, and I pray God holds her accountable.
Cynthia –
Scripture says only God knows our hearts; even I am working on this, but I find it interesting that you can boldly say you know Kamala’s isn’t aiming at love. You know the intentions of her heart? Please share – how so?
Scripture also says “out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks”. I know you like to completely dismiss words, but given scripture says our words are indicative of what’s in our hearts, given Trump’s cursing, namecalling, blatant lying, and praise for dictators who have the death of millions on their hands….would you say his heart is “aiming at love”?
And then there’s the Biblical tenet of respect: Kamala gave Trump the respect of shaking his hand (which you can see she had to force, because he wasn’t going to), referring to him by his proper title (as Former POTUS), and looking at him while speaking. Did he return that respect? No, he passive aggressively mispronounces her name (in addition to not calling her by her proper title) and didn’t have the basic respect to even look in her direction. Even conservative media noted that. Whose heart is “aiming at love”?
And I repeatedly pray that God holds Trump accountable for what he did to the INNOCENT Central Park 5, the Black tenants he was fined for refusing to rent to, and so on and so forth. Those are crimes against not only the values of my country, but specifically people who dare to be born with my skin color (which God gave us).
Marin:
A man or woman’s actions spring from the heart. Enough said.
Quotes from Kamala Harris’s “Heart Aiming at Love”:
“My opponent, on the other hand, his plan is to do what he has done before, which is to provide a tax cut for billionaires and big corporations,” said Harris.
LIE. Inflation is at 21% since she took office. President Trump’s economy resulted in a lifting of boats across the board.
“It must end immediately, and the way it will end is we need a ceasefire deal, and we need the hostages out,” said Harris.
Such a marvelous grasp of the obvious without any plan will result in Afghanistan 2. I don’t imagine anyone would claim the 13 dead service men/women were killed as a result of a “heart aiming at love.”
“It’s a really interesting thing to watch. You will see, during the course of his rallies, he talks about fictional characters like Hannibal Lecter. He will talk about windmills cause cancer. And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom.”
LIE. It would appear the angry green monster known as envy has Harris “bus and pay the people to attend my rallies” by the throat.
Good trees bear good fruit. Bad trees end up killing babies, servicemen and women, the economy, the oil industry…Not exactly illustrative of a “heart aiming at love.”
Actions AND words. That is directly from scripture – Luke 6:45.
Conveniently didn’t answer the question: would you say Trump’s heart is “aiming at love”?
You have that right brother!!!
Those are very apt questions.
I am wondering in what verse or verses did Jesus say that sexual expression can only be between one man and one woman. (See Bill Smith statement number 2.)
Regarding Mr. Smith’s statement number 3, Jesus actually stated that if a man divorces his wife he causes her to commit adultery and he commits adultery himself. (Mark 10:11, Luke 16:18). Most evangelical leaders, if they ever said anything at all about these verses, would counsel those seeking divorce or remarriage to seek God’s will in their decision through prayer. If a leader preached about Jesus’s words about divorce and adultery in the same judgemental way that they condemn all things lgbt, they would be seeing at least 30 percent of their congregants leave and never go back, because evangelicals have divorce rates that are similar to the general population.
One question that I have is, if straight couples are counseled to seek Gods will regarding a second marriage for either or both of them, which I personally believe should be done, then why aren’t gays counseled to seek God’s will regarding their relationships? We serve a living God. Doesn’t our God have the means to let all couples know what path He wants them to choose?
Take care and God bless.
James:
See Matthew 19:3-6 with regards to point 2
3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
And I agree with you about Evangelicals not taking seriously enough Jesus’ teachings on divorce (and remarriage).
In as much, as pastors counsel people to “seek God’s will regarding a second marriage” when that second marriage would clearly fall outside of this, they are wrong.
It is sinful and an insult to God to “seek His will” about something that He has clearly revealed, and basically all you are doing is providing psychological cover under spiritual guise for your disobedience.
And yes, I agree that the “double standard”. with which churches have treated adultery versus homosexuality is revolting.
But the solution to compromise in one area is not extending the compromise to other areas, but rather seeking to base everything on God’s standard.
I Corinthians 7 – “Let each man have his own wife and each wife have her own husband.”
I Timothy 3:2 – “Husband of one wife…”
Gen. 2 – “ For this cause, a man will … cleave to his wife.”
Leviticus 20:13 – “If a man lies with a man as with a woman, it is an abomination”
Romans 1:26 – “… women exchange natural sexual affections for unnatural.”
“…those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
“Abiding in Christ” is to have our wills and affections be transformed by God.
There is a difference in committing sins, and proudly embracing and identifying with that sin.
When you truly love God, you conform to Him, you don’t expect Him to adjust to you, the same way you perform according to your company’s expectations – if you want to keep your job.
I do agree, we should address sin as a whole. There shouldn’t be “acceptable sins.”
Take care!
Mr. Wann,
Mk 10:6-8
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
MT 19:4-6
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Bill,
You are on point!
1/4 to 1/3 of all pregnancies do not end in live birth (egg never attaches to uterine lining, miscarriage, stillbirth, etc). If human life begins at conception, why would God condemn such a large portion of life He creates to die before ever leaving the womb? Things are more complicated that the anti-abortion perspective would like to admit.
I agree that Christians ought to have a sexual ethic as described in the Bible, but this sexual ethic only makes sense in the context of receiving God’s word. We should not expect people who have no belief in God and the Bible to have the same sexual ethic and the government should not regulate consensual sex between two or more adults.
George Hamilton, if you are equating miscarriage, etc. to God’s fault, please research what’s really going on with pregnancies.
I’m not saying it’s God’s fault, my point is why would God design life in such a way in which 25-30% of the souls he creates are never born? “Life begins at conception” is a problematic concept. To take it back to the cited verse, we don’t know how far along Elizabeth was in her pregnancy. It could have been around 8 months along, where even pro-abortion people say abortions should only happen to save the life of the mother/if the baby is dead or will not survive birth.
100% of the souls God creates die?
Does that make murder ok?
George, God created perfect bodies that would not fail in pregnancy. After the fall, that changed and so there are miscarriages. The consequences of the fall does not provide excuses to justify moral relativity.
George- agreed. I believe if the pro-life movement truly believed that life begins at conception, they would be trying to find a cure for miscarriages. but they’re not- I’ve literally never heard anyone say a single thing about finding a cure for miscarriages. And sure, they’re natural- but so is cancer, and we’re trying to find a cure for all of the kinds of cancer that kill people.
And if it IS God who “ends a babies life” with a miscarriage- doesn’t it shows that God is not super interested in every conception as a human life that should go to full term? How can we claim any woman’s choice is “evil” if God regularly makes the same choice?
Jen –it’s God’s decision, not ours.
W Scott- so you’re saying that God is deciding to end an estimated 1 in 4 pregnancies? .God is the biggest aborter of them all, according to your logic. That definitely doesn’t convince me that God cares about unborn life
Sadly, too many actions attributed to God are actually caused by man’s evil, duplicitous heart.
“ Mendelsohn told me that during his appointment as Medical Director of Project Head Start’s Medical Consultation Service in 1968, he was horrified by the discussions held privately in the White House with his medical colleagues. They were openly discussing how they could control the population of the poor by promoting infant formula vaccinations, sadistic hospital birthing practices, deficient government schools, and neighborhood abortion clinics. This was just too much of an assault on his strong Jewish faith and his Hippocratic oath.
https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/p/a-century-of-evidence-has-accumulated
Jen,
You’re comparing apples to oranges. A miscarriage isn’t an ongoing condition in the body like cancer is. It’s an event that occurs at a moment of time. And there has been lots of research into prenatal health concerning diet, vitamins, and appropriate activities to try to avoid the risk of miscarriages. Women deemed to have high-risk pregnancies are put on bed rest to try to avoid losing the baby.
Cancer, on the other hand, is an invasive growth resulting from mutant cells.
Both miscarriages and cancer are results of the fall and the corruption that brought into creation. Neither is part of God’s design.
It’s not apples and oranges- it’s comparing health condition that leads to death to health condition that leads to death. If you don’t like the cancer condition, then go with heart attacks. or anurisms. or any other condition that we study and try to cure.
Where are the pro-life groups raising money to address miscarriage? you know, if every conception is actually sacred?
Amen! That is one problem with Christian nationalists, they insist that everyone in the country/world follow their beliefs, whether they want to or not. That everybody is compelled to accept THEIR doctrine and policy and that all laws have to be changed to be the same as theirs. That is blasphemy to me, since it ignores the free will that God gives all people and overrides every single person’s self autonomy given by God. God invites us to follow him. He does not demand it. And oh so many of religious people, especially Evangelicals, want to force their beliefs on everyone else! Instead of abortion and LGBTQI+ issues, focus on getting the guns out of the hands of mass shooters, especially underage people. Stop the murder of hundreds of people every year, growing worse and worse every year. The school week is only a few weeks old, and how many people have died or been injured in schools and school / school adjacent functions? If that number is greater than zero, it is too high. So many schools are getting threats and having to shut down for a day or 2 until the person making the threats is identified and taken into custody!! It is a major abomination in this country that this even exists! Work on getting these people off the streets and firearms out of their hands. That needs to be our national priority now as Christians. It is our biggest danger.
> why would God condemn such a large portion of life
100% of people die.
Does that mean that murder is not wrong?
A significant number of climbers trying to climb Mt. Everest die. Does that mean it is ok to push someone off a cliff?
I agree 100%. Anyone who says they are a Christian and does not stand by these statements is not a true blood bought believer. Any church that does not stand by these statements are pawns for satan and are encouraging sin. Some things are really black and white. To support a leader who against these views is wrong. The church in general has become a feel good message where taking a stand might mean lost members and the big $$.
You’re very perceptive, Bill Smith. As the Body of Christ on the Earth, we must proclaim that Jesus is the only way to the Father, and stand and speak against such demonic threads like abortion, transgenderism, homosexual behavior, sex outside of marriage, to name a few.
The flaw with the “statement” is that it accuses as “political idolators” those brothers and sisters in Christ who are faithfully applying the Lordship of Christ and the teachings of His Word to the realm of government. Yes, sometimes this can be done in the flesh, but not always.
Signing statements will do nothing to curb our nation’s insanity on both sides of the political aisle; nor will it stop anyone from throwing us into their basket of deplorables.
I have signed a couple statements on other issues and the craziness never stopped.
All this will do is deepen the tribalism in the church. The Christian nationalists will double down. Leaders should had the wisdom to teach the word and let the individual vote how he pleases.
All Christian nationalists aren’t equal. Many them are devoted followers of Jesus and believe they have right to freely speak there mind about politics because it’s America and we have freedom of speech. The leaders should have stayed neutral and treat people with respect as people who think for themselves. I don’t like the political prophetic puppets but I’m voting for Trump! I’m not Maga. Never been to a political rally never plan to. I don’t need pastors or prophets to tell me who to vote for. I vote for who I think is the lessor of two evils. If you have different opinion that’s fine I don’t care. It’s your right to vote how you please. If people and leaders would just get over themselves and stop pretending they are some kind of political expert that would great.
A recent Mortification of Spin podcast episode does a good job of distinguishing along the spectrum of what gets labeled “Christian Nationalism,” from the benign (Christians who want their voice to be heard in political decisions) to the malignant (those who want to enforce Christianity via law).
God’s true people are everywhere, including politics. Without righteous leaders, the nation will perish and be taken over by the satanic cabal one world govmt. Pray w/o ceasing and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth. If sincere, He will do so. Today’s “church” has been infiltrated and taken over by the evil one and his fake Christians. Don’t be deceived by the wolves in sheep’s clothing who, like their father the devil, lie, steal, destroy and kill all while doing with a smile on their face and twisting the Word of God. Their end comes swiftly. God is cleaning out His church; it is so strongly evidenced in our time. Many false pastors, profits (yes, I’ve spelled it the correct way), teachers & so-called Christians will soon hear from Jesus: “Depart from me. I never knew you.” Our family firmly stands with Pres. Donald Trump as God’s chosen man for this time and task.
Without righteous leaders, the nation will perish….Our family firmly stands with Pres. Donald Trump
Dee,
It is truly incomprehensible that you have chosen Trump, an adjudicated rapist and convicted con man, because America needs a “righteous leader.” Your better argument is the “better of two evils” one.
Just let’s not call Trump good or righteous. You know what the Bible says about calling evil good and good evil.
For reference-
Good- love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control
Evil- pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony
Was David righteous?
In the Bible, if you look especially at Kings, a righteous leader is more about the government policies they embrace more so their personal lives. Zedekiah seems more personally righteous than David, yet he was condemned by God, while David is a man after His own heart.
David had egregious sinful failures, but he was repentant. And he never turned away to follow other gods, as many of his descendants did.
Also note that the references to him in Samuel as a man after God’s own heart all come BEFORE the incident with Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah. (Acts 13:22 is just a quotation from the former prophets in a recounting of Israel’s history by Paul)
I don’t think Donald Trump believes he needs to repent of anything.
George Hamilton,
Donald Trump agrees with you.
He apparently is the first person ever to lay claim to heaven without asking forgiveness.
Trump on God: ‘I don’t like to have to ask for forgiveness’
Maxwell Tani Jan 17, 2016, 2:49 PM EST
After months of reflection, Donald Trump says he still doesn’t regret his decision not to ask God for forgiveness for his sins.
First of all, I was responding to Dee who claimed that our nation would perish without a righteous leader like Trump.
Secondly, if you are going to compare Trump to David, could you explain to me all the reasons you believe Donald Trump is a man after God’s own heart?
Greg Culross, the President of the United States isn’t a pastor. And Kamala is openly a liar and a Communist and loves abortion. Could Trump be a better choice than bumbling idiots run by unelected government officials?
I realize we are not electing a pastor.
But would any credible church in America hire Trump, a convicted con man, to keep its books and write checks?
Would any credible church allow Trump, who brags about barging into the locker rooms of under age girls at the Miss America pageant, allow him to be a chaperone on a teen age sleepover?
Would any credible church allow Trump, who cheated on all of his wives, be allowed to minister to couples having marriage problems?
And would ANY credible church allow a convicted sex offender to even be a janitor who had access to security cameras of women or children changing their clothes?
Please!
agree! I have a problem with Christians voting for trump. I feel in my whole heart that unless they change their opinion, it will be them who God says, “Depart from Me..”
This sounds like a Q post. You’re going to do alright under a Harris presidency.
Everything you just said applies to Christians supporting Trump.
Mr. Shepherd, interesting information with one journalistic oversight that confused me. Below the photograph of Lance Wallnau is a sentence that begins “In comments with TRR, Nazworth called the evangelical confession . . .” This fellow named Nazworth is not identified until much later in the article. Please do not refer to someone by surname alone prior to providing his full name and title. Thanks for your contributions to this website.
A helpful comment and correction request, thank you. The text has been updated to fix the error in our editing process.
“(we) declare that Christianity cannot be sold off to partisanship” But the majority of the “evangelical” movement has sold it’s heart and soul to Progressive Secular Humanism and abandoned their orthodox Christian beliefs. So this statement is a monumental waste of time and simply reinforces what most of us actually paying attention already know. These people sold out to the Woke crowd.
For the first time in my life, I’m not voting for a presidential candidate. I’m dismayed by people who make a good case against Christian nationalism and Trump and then turn around and say they’re voting for Harris. The right has gone mad, but so has the left. Progressive churches, however, are getting a pass on the destruction they cause from supporting abortion, transing kids, and flooding our cities with illegals. Their ideologies are also theologically fear driven. They’re just better at hiding it.
Who among this group “supports abortion”? Who supports transing kids? Where are cities being flooded by illegals? Just because I choose not to vote GOP or for Trump means that I’m now doing those 3 things… (same goes for the statement signing group). There really are more choices than that.
I can actually respect that position though I disagree with it.
What I cannot respect is actively, not only voting for Kamal Harris, but encouraging other people to vote for her.
This to me, reveals the depths of hypocrisy.
Hypocrisy?
You are suggesting that the leader of America should be someone historians and presidential experts ranked one, if not the, worst President in US history, who lies so much that it is hard for even experts to keep track of.
You want us to be led by a person who represents EVERYHING we’re teaching children against – name calling, bullying, lying, mocking, crude language and pure foolishness.
You support a proven corrupt and criminal minded individual who is also a convicted felon.
You are willing to ignore the warnings to avoid him by all of those in a position to know he is unfit for the job.
You’re advocating for someone who admires leaders who starve and execute their own citizens, who talks about being like them, someone who is an unlearned individual whose whole illusion of success is a façade.
Above all, you think you’re on some high horse endorsing a man who has demonstrated he has zero knowledge, love, or reverence for our Lord and Savior.
You my friend, are on a “hobby horse”, not a “high horse”.
Debra Howard,
The American people get to decide. If they like the way our country ran during President Trump’s tenure, they will vote for him. Few people like the way our country has been run over the last 3.6 years. They will vote accordingly and will ignore all the personal attacks against President Trump if it means a superior economy will result.
Trumps economic decisions will bankrupt this country
He contributed the most to the deficit of any president
Pure facts, Cynthia
Hilary received nearly 3 million more votes than Trump, but lost the Electoral College.
Biden received over 7 million more votes.
The American people have never wanted him, liked him less, and did not elect him, twice.
Trump grew the economy by 2.5%, Biden grew it by 3.5%.
Trump increased the deficit by 39 %.
Biden by only 25%.
We’re on a sea saw here.
Republicans get us in a mess, then Democrats get us out.
Trump inherited a growing economy.
How much money is over one million lives worth – to their loved ones, to the supply chain, to small businesses?
How much does the chaos, daily drama, and division cost us all?
Injecting bleach, eating dogs… what could possibly be next?
How much dumbing down is all of the foolishness costing our image on the world stage?
We’re debating because he has divided the church. God will have the last word on that one.
Under point 5:
“Second, we seek to reconcile people to one another by addressing issues of justice, righteousness, and peace (Amos 5:24). We accomplish this by loving our neighbors (Mark 12:31), and by engaging our public life with humility, integrity, and a commitment to the common good as defined by our faith in Christ (Romans 12:18).”
Statements like these are very unhelpful unless they get to the root/foundation of the problem which is idolatry, not just of of the current political system, but of the Constitution itself.
Part of loving my neighbor means I speak the truth of how the agent of mind control (definition of government) has conned, or tricked the people for centuries into thinking that 51% has the right to control, or coerce, the remaining 49%. This is not the mind of Christ. He does not coerce (or manipulate) people into following him.
Leadership that arises from voluntary cooperation can be very good apart from mind control (government), and those of us that follow Jesus should be among the first to comprehend this truth, but it’s very difficult for people to admit they’ve been snookered. Thankfully, more people are exposing the fraud.

By far, the BEST explanation of all that is happening upon the earth right now, involving Israel and the whole world, is found not only in the pages of the Q’Dosh Scriptures which make one wise unto Salvation, but in Jonathan Cahn’s latest: “The Dragon’s Prophecy” – just released on 09/03/2024 and available in Barnes & Noble and wherever books are sold. A MUST read, if you are able.
I haven’t read this new one from Cahn, but I did read (and write an in-depth review of) The Josiah Manifesto, his previous book. While Cahn makes some valid observations concerning the importance of social issues, he embellished and distorts Scripture to fit his “mystery” narrative and make himself look like some “insightful prophet.” He should be avoided.
As I’ve been praying a lot about this lately – the polarization of not just our nation, but the CHURCH, is both heart breaking and exhausting – I’ve been reminded that the government is not to be a replacement for God. It is not even to be on the same level as God (yet we treat and talk about it as if so). Nor is the government expected to do the work of God – WE ARE.
That being said, the church is to be about promoting and doing the work of Christ, not a government or a political party. When we use how one votes as a measure of one’s salvation, that is both advancing a political party AND putting that party on the same level as God. THAT IS A PROBLEM. No political party can save. How dare we imply so?!
I see this statement as a step in acknowledging this. I hate I don’t see it changing much, but it’s a step.
We should be asking ourselves: What we are looking for the government to do that WE as the body of Christ can and should be doing? I strongly believe we could get unified and amplify our impact by rallying around the answer to THAT versus insisting “real believers” vote for a policial party.
Jesus render unto Caesar…
Caesar in this case is Trump 2024, he Jesus, of course, lesser of two evils and bearing false witness on the scale democrats have done is scary, 1984, George Orwell scary.
Trump is the embodiment of evil, not “the lesser of”. I don’t think the democrats, or Kamala specifically, is perfect, but they’re not trying to turn the country into their own dictatorship. The dems are the only hope for democracy, even in the flawed form that we have it, continues to exist in america. I know this post is about depolarizing things- but I cannot in good conscience move anywhere toward trump. he is ruinous to all he touches (so many failed businesses, bankruptcies, and court cases, and most of his lawyers are being prosecuted for committing crimes).
I will depolarize once the MAGA cult is gone, and the stakes have lowered.
Yes Dems DO want a dictatorship. They are the ones who want to end the filibuster in the US Senate and they are the ones who want to pack the Supreme Court ala FDR.
Scott – as an FYI, our founding documents do not place a limit on the number of SCOTUS judges we can have. So there’s no such thing as “packing the court.”
You are correct. The Constitution is silent on matters such as the size and composition of the Supreme Court, the time and place for sitting, and the Court’s internal organization, leaving those questions to Congress. The number of 9 SCOTUS judges was set by Congress by an act passed in 1869. Likewise ALL inferior courts (Federal District and Appellate) were created by Acts of Congress as per Article III, Section 1. But then most of the MAGA/Trump supporters (and most Americans in general) are Constitutionally illiterate.
Here is another thing. The size of the House of Representatives (435) is set by an Act of Congress. That number can also be changed as long as the Constitutional requirements are followed. That 435 number has not been changed since 1929.
As a result, the average size of a congressional district has more than tripled in size—from 210,328 inhabitants based on the 1910 Census, to 761,169 according to the 2020 Census. Additionally, due to the unchanging size of the House, combined with the requirement that districts not cross state lines, and the population distribution among states in the 2020 Census there is a wide size disparity among congressional districts: Delaware, the 45th-most populous state, has the largest average district size, with 989,948 people; and Montana, the 44th-most populous state, has the smallest, with 542,113 people. Per the 2020 Census, we have 329.5 million people. This means to keep the same ratio as Montana of people per House rep, the size would have to increase from 435 to 607 representatives. I would increase the amount of House Reps to 607.
Charles – I know it’s against the Constitution to require anything other than citizenship to vote. But your knowledgeable responses do make me wish that we could require the passing of a basic civics test.
The filibuster was created to allow segregationists to hold on to power. it was enacted to give disproprtionate power to racist voices, just like the 3/5s clause. and it takes away the voice of the people.
Multiple actual examples of political idolatry can be found in the publication of the January 6th Commission, titled: “The January 6 Report”.
I encourage everyone to read it.
According to the NAE website, evangelicals have a biblical worldview. With that in mind, I read the list of the original signers of this document and noticed 3 things.
1. Most of the signers have titles that imply superiority to the lowly mere Christian, such as “Rev. Dr.” and “Bishop” and “Pastor”. Jesus said, “It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,” and he criticized the religious leaders of His day for their hautiness: “and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others. But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.” Matthew 23
2. Many signers are women, who call themselves “Pastor”, yet Paul said clearly “I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.” 1 Timothy 2:12
3. I don’t know what qualifies the first signers to be labeled evangelical leaders. The evangelical leaders I can think of, Allister Begg, Skip Heitzig, Greg Laurie, John MacArthur, John Piper, Franklin Graham, or even Rick Warren, none signed this document. If this document had any legitimacy, some of their names would be on it.
So, IMHO, this document isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. However, most true evangelicals with a biblical worldview will not know about this, and will vote by their Christian convictions anyway.
<>
Otherwise known as the genetic fallacy. What Carl Henry called “reactionary theology.” Someone I dislike is for it, so I’m obligated to be against it.
Too little too late. Evangelicals are the Trump cult. They have completely discredited any Christian testimony they may have had. They are liars and idolators who cannot be believed on any topic – political or spiritual.
Wow! THAT is one broad brush you paint with. Since I am considered an evangelical, and will vote for Trump as the lesser of 2 evils (as often happens in presidential elections), you condemn me as a cultist, an idolator, and a liar. And we’ve never even met!
If you are an evangelical voting for trump, it tells me that racism, sexism, lying, rape, fraud, greed, and all manner of horrific character are not deal breakers to you. you may not “like” those things, but you’re willing to vote them into leadership.
They are for dealbreakers for me, and have been every time he’s been on the ballot.
Some of what you attribute to Trump is true of him. Unfortunately, many of those adjectives apply to Harris. For instance, her downpayment assistance is specifically not for white homebuyers. That demonstrates her racist views. Those who’ve worked with Trump are adamant he is not a racist.
Regarding promiscuous Presidents, I’m sure many evangelicals voted for Eisenhower, Kennedy, Reagan, and Clinton for reasons other than their personal lives. We all have our priorities.
In his 4 years as president, Trump accomplished a lot of good things, the best being his 3 SC appointments that returned abortion regulation to the states. In her 4 years as VP, Harris had 1 job, “Border Czar”, which she totally blew. Think what a Harris presidency would mean for the Supreme Court and unborn babies. That’s why I’m voting for the one who is far from perfect, but still the better choice.
“For instance, her downpayment assistance is specifically not for white homebuyers. That demonstrates her racist views. Those who’ve worked with Trump are adamant he is not a racist.”
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your response makes sense.
We have tried to figure out why in all that is sane, would people, “professing” to represent God, support such an inept, indecent, immoral person?
Of all of his buffoonery, add to the infinite list of disqualifying examples for a leader of any kind, him repeating a ridiculous rumor, for the world to see, that immigrants, created by God, are stealing and eating cats and dogs.
He is so gullible that he passed off social media conspiracies as fact. The president of the United States, arguably the most powerful position in the world, easily deceived with unsubstantiated nonsense.
You have proven it is rooted in racism. You are afraid minorities might be helped, and that just cannot be. Got it – “Christian man.”
Newsbreak! White people need help too. Also, not all non-whites need assistance. Why wouldn’t you, Mr. great Christian, want any and all people to live the American dream?
Well, the people who have worked with him are all white, some absolutely racist, so their vote of confidence is about as valuable as a certificate from Trump University.
Furthermore, you too are passing unproven information as fact. Is this what MAGA calls “alternative facts?’
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty look before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18
Watch yourself.
Hi Dan. Reparations (which is part of what is happening with Harris’ homebuying help) is not racist, it’s biblical. It’s recognizing who, specifically, has been legislated out of housing (look up redlining) and unable to build generational wealth through home ownership by entering the housing market. It is a tiny step toward fixing incredible wrongs done to people of color. There are plenty of housing programs that white people are eligable for. this one is attempting to right a longstanding wrong. Trump is objectively racist. there are dozens of articles about it if you’re interested in looking it up. I do not trust the company trump keeps to accurately determine if he’s racist or not.
it’s telling to me that you refer to trump as a “promiscuous” president, when he’s been adjuticated guilty of rape, and has publicly bragged about sexually assaulting women more than once. that’s seems quite beyond “promiscuous.”
And Harris was never “appointed Border Czar”, but tasked with looking at causes of immigration from South American countries, you know, the root causes before people get to our border, and actually made quite a bit of progress.
I think a Harris presidency would hopefully begin to hold the Supreme Court to enforcible ethical standard (no more bought justices), and it would be the best possible outcome for the unborn, since abortions went UP during trump’s administration for the first time after 30 years of decreasing- and had a net increase after the Dobbs decision, and abortion rates decrease faster under dem administrations because of the kind of programs dems promote.
jen manlief:
Could you name one presidential candidate in the past 100 years who had a sterling, above-reproach character that you would consider exemplary of Christ’s character? Just one.
Every single presidential candidate in my lifetime, with the possible exception of Jimmy Carter, has been a serious disappointment when it comes to Christian ethics and character.
That is why I always examine tangibles – How did the economy fare during that person’s tenure? How did the country do in terms of foreign policy? How about our kids? Were they supported in public schools? Were they protected from trafficking? Was our border secure?
If you vote for any candidate at all, you will be voting for a sinner. You will not be able to undo the terrible outcomes of voting for Marxist policies if you vote for Harris. You will be hurting your own country in your attempt to spread the wealth around. You will be voting for shared misery and more illegal activity. So, think very carefully before giving your support to a woman who will likely destroy our country in ways that will be hard to fix.
Fear, too much or too little? “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” (Proverbs 9:10a). The declining health of the children and citizens in our country over the last several decades implies a lack of wisdom. Where are the Christian ministers and prophets who should have been warning about this? “The [sixth] commandment [“you shall not murder”] implicitly prohibits every abuse of the human body that is injurious to life. It forbids any form of harm to the body, and willful neglect of health that destroys or abridges life.” [Hans Sennholz, “Three Economic Commandments”]
Instead of Christian leaders warning about this issue, the Lord had to inspire an apparent non-Christian, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to draw attention to this matter, in the political realm no less.
Additionally, the Church’s response to God’s 9-11 judgement warning in the last 23 years has demonstrated the lack of reverential awe and fear the Lord deserves. One Christian minister’s research revealed the primary site of the attack, the World Trade Center Twin Towers, was at the location where George Washington consecrated our country into the hands of Almighty God immediately after his inauguration on April 30, 1789.
“The Lord had allowed the judgement to strike the nation’s most sacred ground, the ground of its consecration.” . . . “The nation’s ground of consecration will become the ground of its judgement.” [Jonathan Cahn, “The Harbinger”]
In a dramatic encounter about a year after 9-11-2001, Jesus explained to another, “When will you realize with one heart and mind that you are living in the land of my judgement? I have set My face against this nation, and I will not relent. I changed the atmosphere on September 11.” [Shelley Hundley, “A Cry for Justice”]
More reverential awe (fear) is needed, not less.
Quite a few people commenting here and in the article need this book.

To All:
“The African proverb “When deeds speak, words mean nothing” suggests that actions and behaviors are more important than just words or rhetoric. The underlying meaning is that it is one’s actual conduct and what one does that ultimately matters, rather than simply what one says they will do or promises to do. The proverb emphasizes that concrete actions and proven track records carry more weight and credibility than empty promises or mere verbal claims. It highlights the importance of living up to one’s words through demonstrable, tangible results rather than relying solely on eloquent speech or hollow declarations.” (Online quote)
Thanks for actually having a proven track record, President Trump. Thanks for keeping your promises. Thanks for getting back up after being shot and not giving up, as most likely would have done. Thanks for pointing out the vapidity of your debate opponent. Thanks for trying to help my country. May God continue to keep you in his care.
What track record? A wall that was never built? Largest deficits in history? A trade and tariff policy no different that the Democrats’ Union playbook? And much more.
All, and Dr. Cynthia,
“The African proverb “When deeds speak, words mean nothing…”
How about a Chinese proverb: “If you want to know a man, see his friends”
Trump friends: Dictators, Putin, Viktor Orban, Maduro, and his love letter pen-pal Kim Jong-un. White supremacist: Laura Loomer, Nick Fuentes, Charlie Kirk, Steven Miller…
“Thanks for keeping your promises.” He only kept 24%, broke 53% including: the ineffective wall which cost 11 billion (Mexico is still laughing); Covid didn’t “poof” go away – over 1 million Americans died – he nearly died himself; he would be “presidential” – LOL! Funny, not funny. Played golf more than any president; Only the best people – fired an astounding number, several of them committed crimes; coal and steel “lost” jobs ….
“Thanks for getting back up after being shot …” Thank you, Secret Service men and women, for being willing to take a bullet yourself. Thank you, Capital Police, for keeping our government from caving by his goons. Thank you, Department of Justice, for putting them in prison where they belong. More were just arrested. Oops! I guess they will miss his award banquet for them. Disgusting.
“Thanks for pointing out the vapidity of your debate opponent.”
All over the world, they are saying he was demolished, and exposed for the fraud he is. Ahh! Believing your lying eyes, or being brainwashed by his spin? IDK. Worst, Ohio is now having death threats over his evil foolishness like Asian Americans were subjected to during Covid – because of him. More unnecessary money spent, more violence in our country.
“Thanks for trying to help my country.” “May God continue to keep you in his care.” May God have mercy on his soul – he’ll need it.
Thank you, Americans, for rejecting this “wolf in wolves clothing.” Let’s do it again.
Debra Howard,
Your candidate has had lots of power to change things for the better over the last almost four years.
What has she done? Instead of talking about “what she’s gonna do,” why hasn’t she already done it?
Four years later…NADA.
Remember she was the VP, not the president.
I would question how many of the signers are voting for Harris. After scanning the list, I think a majority. The hatred and derangement for DT may vary between great and a little, but they will inevitably check the box for Harris. Those of us who are political orphans, not Democrat, not Republican, are left with…well, nothing in this election. Thank God we still have Jesus.
“The hatred and derangement for DT may vary between great and a little, … “
DTDS is about as mature as, “I’m rubber, you’re glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.”
It is a justification technique – all day long.
In actuality, what you are describing is called “discernment.”
A better title would be, Donald Trump IS “Deranged Recognition”.
DTDR. There, I fixed it for you.
Debra Howard:
“If you want to know a man, see his friends.”
Jesus befriended prostitutes, tax collectors, demon-possessed individuals, lepers, adulterers…
I’m not sure your Chinese proverb works in the real world.
Further, without going into detail, your comments about President Trump are based on propaganda. Seek the truth always or you will be deceived.
Earlier today, Trump went on record defending self-proclaimed white supremacist Laura Loomer.
Even Marjorie Taylor Greene – who has her own questionable history of making racist and antisemitic remarks – came out against this.
Time to walk away. We deserve better.
Marin Heiskell:
Harris praised her long-time San Francisco pastor who blamed the USA for the 9/11 attacks and considers my country “racist.”
We most definitely deserve better than the least-respected, least-liked, and least-effective Vice President in American history. NO THANKS!
Huge whataboutism to deflect. I’ll go back to my actual statement and add: I don’t want a POTUS who has openly professing white supremacists in his inner circle, who defends them to even other Republicans who say STOP.
That clearly isn’t a big deal to you: instead of saying it’s wrong or even trying to empathetically understand why people of color (including other believers of color whom I’m sure you “love with the love of the Lord”) would be alarmed, you play a whataboutism game.
And this is why Trump will never be held accountable or apologize for it: his own supporters don’t even question it.
I don’t trust leaders (of ANYTHING) who lack accountability and the ability to apologize.
Cynthia, everything you say about Harris is propaganda.
True or false, trump was a friend of known pedophile Epstein. He even joked that Epstein “likes them young”. So he knew. That’s not propaganda. Trump is a rapist, pure facts.
You refuse to see the truth. Your ears itch for the words you want to hear, ignoring the truths that many are trying to tell you here
Donald maluga:
As stated by me ad infinitum, ALL ARE SINNERS. If you would like me to list Harris’s sins, I could begin with sleeping with her boss, lying to the American people, ignoring the border while innocents are murdered, trying to kill the jobs of many in the oil industry, etc. etc. etc.
We are NOT talking about character here. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT POLICIES.
Do me a favor: List any policies supported by President Trump that you do not like and that you consider bad. I will list one supported by Harris: Using taxpayer money to help irresponsible borrowers pay off their student loans. Wait…here’s another one: Letting illegals free to roam the streets of our cities and small towns. Oh, wait…here’s another one: Bailing out a murderer in Minnesota who, once out of prison, killed two people.
President Trump’s policies will win over hers any day of the week. THAT’s why I am voting for him. It has nothing to do with character because, if it did, I would never vote again.
Cynthia, unlike us, Jesus embodies sacredness and purity in every aspect of his life. Therefore, comparing Donald Trump’s associations with people of poor character to Jesus’ relationships overlooks the biblical warnings about the influence of our associations and misunderstands the true purpose of Jesus’ ministry. Jesus sought to lead sinners to repentance, not to be influenced by them.
Tricia Russell,
You are absolutely correct. My point to Debra Howard was simple: She tried very hard to disparage what the Bible says about actions, particularly as represented by Jesus’ parable of the two sons (see Matthew 21: 28-32). Her comeback to me was to quote a Chinese saying about our associations and friends. It had very little, if anything, to do with my point.
We are always known by the company we keep. It’s why Harris, a friend of Marxists, is not a viable candidate for the office of President. We are not a Marxist country, and fortunately most still know this to be true. She seems rather ignorant when it comes to economic matters and Capitalism. In addition to this fact, she also befriends racists and has a pastor who thinks the USA is a racist nation, responsible for 911.
No thanks.
Cynthia –
Trump is openly defending his friendship and association with professing white supremacist Laura Loomer AS I TYPE THIS. He has had white supremacist Nick Fuentes to dinner in Florida.
Funny you aren’t concerned with a POTUS having these people on his plane and in his inner circle. But hey, I’m accepting that it’s just not a deal breaker for others.
And Trump’s economic policies added to our debt (we were “living better” on borrowed money, which isn’t too dissimilar from the way Trump has run his businesses, if you’ve followed their bankruptcies over the years), and given what scripture says about debt (not to mention how much we are enslaved to China over our growing debt), that should be a point of concern for ALL. Oh how I wish BOTH sides of the aisle would focus more on that. We are mortgaging this nation away.
And Pat Robertson said 911 happened because we have all this immorality, secularism, abortion, etc.

And another family is devastated by murder…likely brought to you by an illegal alien…brought to you by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.
May God hold them accountable.
Cynthia-
I thought you believed we are all responsible for only our own sins. But now you are blaming Kamala and Joe are responsible for the murder another person committed.
Using your same logic, all the Georgia legislators who voted against gun control are responsible for the Appalachee HS shooting….
Marin,
We are always responsible for our own sins, as the Bible clearly states. That is why Harris and Biden are responsible for leaving our border wide open and allowing predators to enter.
Gun control exists in large cities like Chicago. It does very little to stop criminals who want to kill people. The Appalachee High School shooting was perpetrated by a disturbed young man from the United States. The murder of the family I mentioned was perpetrated by an ILLEGAL ALIEN allowed to enter because of the Biden/Harris policies. He should never have been here.
See the difference yet?
Cynthia –
Harris and Biden have not left our border “wide open” nor have they personally “allowed predators to enter.” You strike me as WAY too intelligent and well-read to need to use such exaggerations and straw man arguments to make a point. If you dislike their policies – and the attempt at bi-partisan agreement to fix a problem that has been DECADES in the making due to poor immigration and foreign policies; then state what specifically about the policies you dislike, and discuss. (I personally think we have had a bandaid on a problem that’s bursting, and no policy or plan from EITHER side would effectively address the “upstream” cause AND “downstream” impact; it would just put a bandaid on top. Nor do I think we have the resources to do so in a timely manner). But the borders are not “wide open” (I just did a day trip to Mexico 2 weeks ago and can speak to this), and Biden and Harris are not personally allowing predators to enter. I get you don’t like them, but that shouldn’t fuel dishonesty.
And I am not anti-2nd Amendment (shocker, right?! but I AM a Texan); I’m against anti-common sense gun control laws that prevent repeat offenders, domestic abusers, children, and the like from owning guns. That being said, I support the Appalachee gunman’s parents being held accountable with charges like reckless endangerment (as “reckless” perfectly describes their behavior that led to such a tragedy unfolding). And I lay the tragic murders at the high school SOLELY at the feet of the heartbreakingly troubled child.
I wonder if and how the apostle Paul would react to and comment about the whole issue.
Paul might say some of our most well-known and respected Christian teachers failed God when they drove us into this carnal “Paul or Apollos” like fight.
For the first time in modern history, the church has been aggressive, to the point of fear mongering and manipulation, in their support of a political candidate.
Moreover, the necessary resistance to line up behind the most divisive politician in years, keeps us off our appointed mission.
The world may not know much about our faith, but they know enough of the ten commandments to know only one has broken most – if not all – of them before our very eyes, for decades.
Furthermore, in I Corinthians 3, Paul lays out that a good leader must have qualities like
humility, integrity, compassion, a servant heart, not greedy, or prejudiced. Both allow for abortion. It is hard to reconcile their choice. Maybe it’s not that hard when so many of them would benefit from the tax break for the wealthy.
So, if we lose faith in those we’ve trusted to teach us about God, where does that lead us?
Sadly, I believe it will lead to a further exodus from the church, leaving everyone to be right – in their own eyes.
Your question may have been rhetorical, but I believe it was also profound.
Thank you for asking.
Debra – this was a very thoughtful response that gave me a lot of food for thought, especially the “keeps us off our appointed mission” part. I am only one voter, and have found myself reflecting a lot on what I can personally do to stay “on mission” (and my mission is to love others). I may not be able to change or affect much, but what I can control is my willingness to love others.
Thank you for your comment.
