The FBI has arrested a Michigan man for allegedly making an online threat to kill “Christian filth” should Trump win the 2024 General Election.
A federal complaint names Isaac Paul Sissel, 25, of Ann Arbor and accuses him of making a threatening communication, according to a declaración released from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Michigan. The threat was made prior to the election, and Sissel was arrested on Nov. 4, the statement said.
The release and a seven-page criminal complaint spelled out Sissel’s plan.
On Nov. 2, the FBI National Threat Operations Center in West Virginia received an anonymous online threat.
The threat read in part: “I shall carry out an attack against conservative christan, (sic) filth in the event trump wins the election. I have a stolen ar15 and a target I refuse to name so I can continue to get away with my plans. Without a specific victim or ability to find the place I hid the gun, there’s not a thing the FBI can do until I complete the attack.”

The criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court on Nov. 4 stated that T-Mobile records showed Sissel as the owner of the phone used to make the threat. The phone number was used on several Reddit accounts with names like “ShootUpTrumpRally,” “PlanningToShootTrump,” and “WillShootTrumpSoon,” the complaint states.
Sissel’s IP address led federal investigators to him. The transient man was detained by federal agents on Nov. 4 at a Canton, Michigan, motel.
Sissel reportedly told federal agents, “(H)e wouldn’t kill Trump, but if he knew someone was going to assassinate Trump that it was his (Sissel’s) duty to not intervene,” the complaint stated.
The FBI found no weapons in Sissel’s possession, but Sissel had a chemical irritant agents prevented him from accessing, the complaint states.
Sissel reportedly said Trump was a “threat” and a “piece of s— that should have been assassinated,” court documents state.
Federal prosecutors said Sissel has a criminal history, including arrests and warrants for stalking, harassment, interference with emergency communications, and harassing communications.

I’m one of many Christians who saw more Christlike behavior from Kamala Harris. She consistently took the high road even when he/his running mate/their surrogates demeaned her. And I do believe she hasn’t gotten enough credit for the job she does as the sitting Vice-President. And that’s why I voted for her.
So . . . Being a zealous abortion supporter is Christ-like? Being a zealous LGBTQ+ supporter is Christ-like? Being part of the blame-everything-on-race Identity Politics crowd is Christ-like? I’d love to see you delinate exactly what your litmus test for “Christ-like” behavior is because it doesn’t look like it’s based on anything Christian. No one should be voting for someone that is totally devoid of moral values. Voting for Harris meant that you directly support behavior that God calls sin. So christ-like? Not so much.
Was it considered “taking the high road” when VP Harris called President elect Trump Hitler and his supporters Nazis? Probably not.

To help with your one-sided selective memory, you can still do a simple online search to listen or read Trump’s repeated name calling of Harris and insults of her supporters.
Even worse, you can read some of the comment threads on this site and see what many professing Christians are accusing and labeling Harris and her supporters of being and doing.
I won’t touch the “totally devoid of moral values” accusation from anyone supporting a thrice-married, foul mouthed serial adulterer….that comment writes itself.
I hope that this troubled young man get some help as part of his sentencing. There is never a place for political violence in our country.
Plenty of nasty rhetoric on both sides. No believer, with clear eyes, should throw in with one or the other. Choices can and should be made, but full throated endorsements like we see here in the comments, show a lack of wisdom and discernment in my opinion. We need to stop allowing various forces to divide us. We can and should be a tremendous force for good. Taking the bait of division surely prevents that.
