Controversial Tennessee Pastor Greg Locke, known for burning books and calling COVID-19 a hoax, claims a “madman” shot up his home last night, with one bullet hitting his youngest daughter’s bedroom pillow.
Locke pastors Iglesia Bíblica Visión Global, a megachurch in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. On Sept. 4, he posted on medios de comunicación social, “(F)or the last three hours our home has been a full blown crime scene.”
The Tennessean reported Wilson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Locke’s home around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, and found 30 to 40 shell casings around the house, garage, and vehicle.
No injuries were reported, and the shooting is under investigation, the newspaper reported, adding that no arrests were made.
Telephone calls to Global Vison Bible Church and the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office were not returned.

Locke’s post says Locke pulled into his driveway “exactly one minute after a madman unloaded an entire magazine of bullets from an automatic weapon into our house, garage and my truck.”
Referring to surveillance video, Locke posted, the “sound on the video is truly horrific.”
“One of the bullets cut through the headboard of our youngest daughter’s bed and lodged in her pillow,” the post said.
Locke said security escorted the family to a hotel.
The megachurch pastor’s family life has been marked by turmoil. In 2018, he divorced his wife of 21 years, and within four months, married his ex-wife’s best friend, and administrative assistant, Tai Cowan McGee.
Locke founded Global Vision Bible Church in 2006, and has a long history of theatrical antics, as reported by El Informe Roys (TRR).
Locke has backpacked hundreds of miles for Bibles, spent three nights in the freezing cold atop a scissor lift to support a homeless ministry, and rode a bike across the country to raise money for a church building.
Locke is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and has gained notoriety for posting viral Facebook videos protesting Target’s gender-neutral bathroom policies, burning books, hunting witches, and creating viral videos claiming COVID-19 is a hoax. He was eventually banned from YouTube.
He has also been at odds with the Wilson County Development Services over years of noise complaints and zoning violations concerning Global Vision Bible Church.
In 2023, the director of Wilson County Development Services filed a lawsuit against Locke and his church, citing numerous noise complaints and zoning disputes. The lawsuit also claims that Global Vision failed to obtain proper building permits for construction over the years and has violated several county “Notice to Stop Work” orders.
After years of fighting and the lawsuit, Locke announced in August he was planning to move his church to a nearby building.

Let’s see the actual photographic evidence, the police report, along with any recovered bullets first.
Second, even it happened, I would put money down that it was one of Locke’s buddies that did it at Locke’s request. Can you say false flag? I knew you could.
My guess is that it would be someone inside his church that he cast out, or called a demon, or whatever.
I think people outside of his church think he’s wacky, but don’t think about him enough to shoot up his house. that kind of obsession definitely feels like the caller is coming from inside the house. this seems like a “his people” kind of thing. you can’t stoke the fires of hate without getting a bit burned.
It’s hard to feel bad for Greg, but I do feel bad that his family is being victimized because of his antics. I hope whoever shot at his house is caught and prosecuted, and we as a nation get smarter about our gun laws, and better at keeping guns out of the hands of people who use them for evil.
He’s always looking for attention. That is all.
I hate that my first reaction was to roll my eyes and doubt he’s telling the truth. But that’s because Greg’s whole “ministry” is rooted in fradulent attention grabs.
In any case, if this really happened, I pray the person is caught….AND that this is a “come to Jesus” wakeup call for Greg.
I’m confused at the decision to describe this as alleged. Its automatically prejudicial and implies he is lying. Is there actual evidence to lead a person to believe he is lying? Because the Sheriff’s department believes it happened.
I don’t like Greg Locke, but calling someone a liar without evidence is called bearing false witness… its a sin.

The title says, “Pastor Greg Locke Claims ‘Madman’…”
Unless the editor’s intent is to put the emphasis of the word “claim” on the so called madman, questioning whether they are in fact a madman, then this title makes it sound like they are questioning Locke’s claim that his house was shot up.
As a competent reader, I certainly read it as insinuating that Locke’s claims are unreliable.
No one said this specific incident didn’t happen. We all, however, had immediate doubts because Greg Locke has a history of lying and attention seeking- so of course that is the first assumption. It seems that we were all careful to not call it an outright lie, but to note our suspicions based on his previous lies.

No one is disputing that shots were fired at his home.

I think the decision to put only his word madmen in quotes implies that he is being deceitful. The quotes are necessary in the headline because he actually said that. They should have contained his entire phrase not that one word
I disagree. It is used in the title in the context of a claim he is making. As in, that is the descriptor HE used, not the author’s terminology.
Deb, with all due respect, it’s simply proper grammar to put quotes around that one word. To say the shooter was a “madman” is Greg Locke’s conclusion about what happened, not a 100% provable fact, nor a conclusion of the author of the article. The entire sentence is later quoted within the article so it’s not misleading in the long run. The full sentence would make the headline a paragraph long basically. Headlines by nature can’t be perfectly accurate and it is required of any responsible news reader to read the article and not read the headline and assume they know the whole story from it. Just trying to be reasonable here.
Ok bad as this sounds anyone else not totally convinced he did not have something to do with this for publicity because this despicable and dangerous man just would in my opinion!

-the entire quote *is* in the article, so it’s only misleading if someone reads the headline and skips the article (reader’s fault).

So many things just don’t add up with Greg Locke’s ever emerging saga. How many times has he had criminal activity happen on his property that he claims he has footage of? Yet, nobody has seen any of this supposed footage. No arrests. Why all of his lies? He has lied about the Sheriff and was called on it publicly. He lied to the public about a police report he made and got busted on it when recording was released. Did someone shoot at his home? Yep. But was Greg the target? He’s taken numerous trips to Israel in recent months; the most dangerous time possible. His bank dumped him and the church as customers…why? Banks don’t do that for no reason; they do it to stay out of trouble themselves. I just wonder if his congregation will show up one morning to find that the money for their new building ($5M?) is gone, along with Greg and his “wife.” I also wonder if Israel has an extradition agreement with the U.S. Just wondering.
