Matt Chandler, pastor of The Village Church in north Texas, is back home after spending much of this week in hospital dealing with the same mysterious illness his wife recently recovered from.

Matt’s wife, Lauren reached out earlier this week saying Matt was battling the same symptoms that she experienced at the beginning of the month.

“My turn to ask you guys for prayer. Matt was admitted to the hospital in the middle of the night. Same symptoms that I had and still no answers,” said Lauren in a post on Instagram. “Thankfully, I am well on the mend and know Matt will be too.”

She went on to say that doctors were doing tests and that they were hopeful of finding out a diagnosis.

“For those asking, it does seem we might know the culprit. Unfortunately, they didn’t run the same test on me, so it’s hard to know for sure,” said Lauren. “Let me assure you that while it was scary to go through (because we weren’t sure what was going on with me in particular), we know that the symptoms eventually expire and, with medical support, recovery is more than possible.”

Late Tuesday afternoon, Lauren updated followers letting them know that Matt had returned home.

“Thank you all for praying for us! We got answers and Matt is well on his way to recovery. I am feeling 100%! We are confident Matt will make a full recovery in no time.”

Lauren says they will not be sharing his diagnosis simply out of privacy.

“There are some things we just want to keep to ourselves. Our desire in making this public was to have people pray for us.”

She says she is thankful for anyone who has prayed for them through this difficult time.
