Michael Catt, the retired Georgia pastor who co-founded the Christian film company known for producing Facing the Giants, Fireproof, y Courageous, has entered palliative care.
Catt, an author and the former longtime pastor of Sherwood Church in Albany, Georgia, has been battling prostate cancer for the past five years.
Last week, his family announced on social media that Michael only had months to live.
“Recently, doctors found a tumor in his brain stem. They do not recommend operating on the tumor. Because of this, we have chosen to forego any future cancer treatments, with the goal now being to make him as comfortable as possible through palliative care for the few months he has left this side of heaven,” said the family in a statement on Facebook.
The family is now asking for prayers for his wife, Terri. They pray that she and Michael will have many precious and holy moments together in the coming weeks.

Catt is also known for launching Sherwood Pictures. Michael served as the Executive Producer of Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, y Courageous, as well as multiple music and video projects.
He has also served as Executive Producer for the film Woodlawn produced by brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin, and in recent years backed their Kingdom Story Company movie productions through church outreach.
“We know how much Michael means to so many of you. He has been a son, a father figure, a friend, a mentor, a brother, a shepherd, a prophet, and more. We would love for you to share your favorite stories and fond memories with us.”
