Planned Parenthood Exposed, Investigations Promised

A secretly-recorded video caught Planed Parenthood’s senior director of medical services describing how the organization sells the body parts of aborted babies. The shocking and disgusting video spread like wildfire on social media, and three congressional committees said they would investigate the issue, in addition to state-led investigations across the country.

Wheaton College’s Gay Celibate Counselor Supports Same-Sex Relationships, Resigns

Julie Rodgers, a counselor in the Chaplain’s Office at Wheaton College, announced Monday that she supports same-sex relationships and resigned her position at the college.I wrote about Rodger’s hiring for WORLD Magazine in December, and got a lot of feedback at the time. Rodgers, who identified as a gay, celibate Christian, said this week she no longer sees celibacy as a viable option for most self-identified gays. I think Rodgers is right – just not in the way she thinks.

Pastor Saeed Abedini’s Release Not Included in Iran Deal

President Obama is being criticized for not including the release of the four Americans being held prisoner — including Pastor Saeed Abedini — in his nuclear deal with Iran. But Pastor Abedini’s wife Naghmeh said that the White House and State Department said “from the beginning, that [Saeed’s release] would not be be part of the deal.” 

The Duggar Family’s Reality Show Canceled

TLC cancelled “19 Kids and Counting,” the reality TV show featuring the Duggar family—who boldly display their Christianity—two months after Josh Duggar admitted that he had molested several of his younger sisters. The family released a statement on their website: “It is our prayer that the painful situation our family went through many years ago can point people toward faith in God and help others who also have lived through similar dark situations to find help, hope and healing, as well.” 

Divorce Not on the Rise After All

The New York Times writes that the conventional wisdom of a rapidly rising divorce rate is wrong. In fact, “the divorce rate peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s and has been declining for the three decades since.” But the news isn’t all good.

Scott Walker Joins the Race, Not Afraid to Share Faith

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker announced his campaign for president Monday, becoming the 15th republican in the race. Walker has been open about his Christian faith, and spoke at this year’s National Religious Broadcasters’ convention.
