Radio Interview on “The Common Good”: What Can We Learn from Harvest Scandal?

By Julie Roys

What can we learn from the current scandal concerning James MacDonald and Harvest Bible Chapel?

Yesterday, I had the privilege of discussing this important issue as the first-ever guest on the new afternoon drive-time program on WYLL AM 1160 called “Common Good.” I talked with hosts Brian From and Ian Simkins, who also are Chicago-area pastors, about the allegations of financial and spiritual abuse at Harvest. But even more importantly, we talked about how this kind of abuse happens within churches and what church leaders and members can do to avoid it. I felt it was a very helpful discussion as we try to glean important lessons from this sad situation. Enjoy!
