Scandal-Plagued Daystar TV Sheds Greg Laurie, Jack Hibbs Broadcasts

Daystar TV, the Texas-based Christian cable-and-satellite broadcaster enmeshed in allegations of sexual abuse and financial improprieties, has shed two more high-profile broadcasters, The Roys Report (TRR) has learned.

Disappearing are “Harvest with Greg Laurie” and “Real Life with Jack Hibbs,” programs hosted by two popular California pastors who have extensive radio and television ministries.

Laurie’s radical Christian conversion story was detailed in the 2023 hit movie “Jesus Revolution.” He’s the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, a church that has sponsored numerous crusades at which thousands have made Christian commitments.

Hibbs, whose “Real Life” radio and TV programs also air nationally, pastors Calvary Chapel Chino Hills. He has drawn fire for endorsing baseball legend Steve Garvey in the 2024 U.S. Senate race in the Golden State.

The departures bring to 24 the number of Christian programmers — including a dozen high-profile broadcasters  — who have yanked their programs from the network. Along with Laurie and Hibbs, other notable departures include Joyce Meyer, Ray Comfort, Jesse Duplantis, Lance Wallnau, James Merritt, and Jack Graham. Broadcasts of late Southern Baptist pastor Adrian Rogers have also exited from the Daystar schedule.

Daystar, one of the most prominent Christian broadcasting groups in the U.S., has faced controversy since November 2024. That is when former network vice president Jonathan Lamb — son of Daystar founders Joni and the late Marcus Lamb — accused his mother of covering up an incident of sexual abuse involving his 5-year-old daughter.

Marcus Lamb died in November 2021after contracting the COVID-19 virus.

TRR revealed in December 2024 that Joni Lamb denied using ministry funds to pay for a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with her second husband, Doug Weiss. However, expense report records obtained by TRR indicate otherwise and the ministry did not provide documentation showing Joni Lamb reimbursed Daystar for the more than $100,000 expense.

Last month, police officials in Colleyville, Texas, concluded a probe into the child sexual abuse allegations made by Jonathan Lamb and his wife, Suzy. No charges were filed. Texas has no statute of limitations on such cases, however, and should new evidence come to light, officials can investigate.

TRR has contacted ministry offices for Hibbs, Laurie and Daystar for comment, but none immediately responded.

  1. your article makes it sound like Jack Hibbs and Greg Laurie were booted off (were shed) by Daystar.
Were they shed or did they leave on their own initiative?
    Thanks

  2. Would love to know if Laurie & Hibbs will be honest & why it took them so long? I heard Hibbs said he would preach the gospel on any media outlet which is why he never left. Joni has several homes & sitting on $600million cash. Cowards? Or is more coming out that has got them running scared from the Daystar Mafia business? Keep up great work TRR! Pls look into Sam Rodriguez he asked Pedo Robert Morris to mentor him.He was anointed & called out at Gateway by James Robinson who covered up Pedo Robert Morris. There is something there…I am sure of it. He has no integrity why is he silent. No longer can’t collect from that church with his visits multiple times to speak!

    1. They may have waited until a broadcasting contract was going to expire and decided not to renew it. Sometimes it would be more expensive to cancel the contract before it ends, and that may not be $ that those ministries were willing or able to spend.

  3. “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all battlefield besides, is mere flight and disgrace …” Martin Luther

  4. I’m glad Pastor Greg Laurie and Pastor Jack Hibbs have stepped down from Daystar ministry. Not sure why it took them so long…

    1. Not that either one of those guys are much better than Daystar. But better late than never I guess.

  5. I used to go to all the tent revivals I could find. I am 76 years old and there are none around. The preachers I saw all seemed honest. Many did not collect money, but they would have a bucket or two available if you wanted to leave an offering after the revival ended. Most TV preachers seem to push seed faith, and sending them money. Does anyone else feel this way? I mean the new breed of TV preachers are out for money, jets, homes, vacations and prosperity?

  6. Have communicated with a ministry we support, Turning Point with David Jeremiah and his representatives told me twice the ministry was “watching the Daystar situation carefully”. After Daystar released their statement exonerating themselves (they think) Turning Point sent it to me as if it was proof that everything is okay because Daystar said it is okay. Not sure if discernment is lacking or naivety is the problem. Not seeing any mainstream evangelists broadcasting on the Mormon network or ETWN Catholic channel to “reach as many as we can”……yet heretical/prosperity gospel networks are no issue for their shows to be broadcast

    1. Al,

It is pretty obvious that Turning Point is either idiotically foolish for believing Daystar or they don’t give a rat’s rear end. In either case, do you really want to give another dime to them?

  7. The lambs need to purge the properties and extravagant cars and make a humble confession that the devil (sin) has gotten the best of them. Win back the viewers/followers and not flaunt the wealth and success. Everyone hates a winner. Everyone loves a comeback when you fall from grace.

    tell me I am wrong?

  8. I followed Daystar a long time the betrayal of the Gospel is still making me ill. I was listening to and following false teachings. I told God I wouldn’t know one if they came by . So he gave me scriptures on the Bible his truths and Daystar started being exposed. I appreciate truth with repentance but have seen none . Thank you for the updates of kind respectful report and a heart that wants to see repentance of All of Daystar . Blessings of Grace , Truth and Mercy 💜

  9. I’m very surprised and reading of the allegations towards Daystar for the first time today. I tend to pray for those that are accused rather than judge. Judgement should be left to God. We need to pray 🙏 for spiritual wisdom and guidance for all involved with Daystar. May God grant us all peace, strength, you and courage to decipher this spiritual matter.
    God Bless

  10. May God grant us all peace, strength, courage, wisdom and guidance regarding making our conclusions and decisions regarding all accusations. Pray for those who have sinned and let God judge.God Bless you all!
