Televangelist Benny Hinn and his wife, Suzanne, have divorced for a second time.
Judge Jeffrey M. Rich granted the divorce Nov. 19 in Hillsborough County, Florida, according to publicly available court records. Suzanne Hinn filed for the divorce in July 2024.
The Hinns first married on Aug. 4, 1979, and divorced in 2010. They remarried in 2013 before a large audience at the Holy Land Experience in Orlando. Benny Hinn Ministries sold DVDs of the second wedding for $25.
Damon Chase, an attorney representing Benny Hinn, stated that the second divorce was “extremely amicable” and that both partners remain “very close.” When reached by The Roys Report (TRR) for comment, Chase provided a link to his statements reported by the Christian Post.
Benny and Suzanne Hinn pray together regularly and are still committed to Christian ministry, Chase said.

He added, “Benny Hinn and Suzanne Hinn still love each other with a deep, profound soulmate type of love, and they always have for years and years and years. They just got divorced. It was personal feelings. It was something personal to them, but they did what they felt was right.
“They’re still very much in each other’s lives and will always be in each other’s lives.”
Matthew Wilson, an attorney representing Suzanne Hinn, did not respond to a request for comment.
Florida is a no-fault divorce state, which means a divorce can be granted if one party proves that the marriage is irretrievably broken. Suzanne Hinn’s divorce petition was not publicly available through Florida’s online portal.
Assets and liabilities acquired during a marriage are distributed equitably under Florida law.
According to the Trinity Foundation, the Hinns acquired at least $4.7 million of real estate during their second marriage, including three homes and a beach condo in Florida.
A beach house worth $8.6 million in Dana Point, California, does not appear to be part of the most recent divorce settlement because it was acquired during the Hinn’s first marriage, Trinity Foundation reported.
Benny Hinn met Suzanne when she was a student at Evangel College and he was an evangelist based in Canada, according to his 1978 biography, “He Touched Me.” At the time, Suzanne’s father, Roy Harthern, pastored Calvary Assembly of God, a megachurch in Winter Park, Florida.
The couple has four children together.

Several months after Suzanne Hinn filed for the first divorce, the National Enquirer published a photo of Benny Hinn holding hands with televangelist Paula White in Rome. Benny Hinn denied having an affair with White, whom he described as a friend, according to Charisma.
Benny Hinn has been accused of deceptive practices and false healings, including in a four-hour documentary by pastor and video producer Mike Winger. Benny Hinn Ministries was included in a 2007 financial inquiry of several ministries by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.
Benny Hinn Ministries’ reach has declined over the years. Trinity Broadcasting Network stopped airing his TV program in 2016, and Daystar Television dropped it the following year.
Ann Marie Shambaugh has reported as a print journalist in multiple states, including currently in Carmel, Indiana.

I am sad to see lives go so awry, but let’s be honest here; life is very hard for most Christians right now. The enemy-accuser of the brethren- has put an even bigger focus to destroy on ANY influential person in Christian world to make them fall and cause many others to fall and lose faith.
I pray for these to find the path God created them for and to have hearts turned more purely toward Jesus and the Word. Ultimately, God is their father- not any of us.
We are to be intercessors and witnesses in the courts of heaven with Jesus as the advocate. Our job is to pray and bring up good they have done in thankful hearts, Pray for them to turn around and Jesus does the harvesting-even of the tares the enemy has planted. We are warned not to pull up tares because real wheat might be destroyed in the process. Doesn’t mean we can’t be aware of them.
Some of the biggest blessings in my life have come through ministries where tools of bitterness & more have brought them to the brink of destruction. I use those blessings in intercession and prayer for them.
I do not blame the divorce on an attack by satan. More the flesh, and hidden things only God and the Hinns know.
What an absolutely beautiful response. It is rare to see someone post something from the heart of God when these articles are written. Benny made mistakes along the way but I also know many lives were forever changed through his ministry. I would feel the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit come into my room when I watched “This is Your Day” His healing scriptures music has brought physical healing to my body many times as I trusted God’s word when listening. The anointing upon his life was very impactful and any door we have open to the enemy is a door he will always force himself in and try to destroy someone. It is our part as believers to pray for him and Suzanne I am joining in praying for them with you as I am an intercessor also. If not for the grace of God go I
Thank you Sister Vivian for what I believe is a very scriptural and charitable response. I join my intercession for the Hinns together with yours and I know countless others. The Sanctity of Marriage is under prime attack by the enemy of our souls as the Church is in the crucible of preparation for her upcoming role for eternity as the Bride of Christ. We have to get “the Marriage concept” straight according to the scriptural words of Jesus Himself to be able to enter into the Revelation 19:7&8 relationship with our Bridegroom. This is what I pray for BroBenny and SisSuzanne.
Vivian, I understand what you are saying; for ministries built on integrity, honesty, and transparency, I completely agree with you. However, ministries that actively hurt the body of Christ have no place in the body of Christ. God can use anyone to impact people for Christ; this does not mean the pastor or ministry should continue to harm many others. If you read the N.T., one of Paul’s main concerns were wolves…he actively called them out.
Vivian,
Considering this is 2nd time this happened, it is much more likely it has to with Benny Hinn’s own flesh, rather than the world or the devil. Benny Hinn is a false teacher, a name-it-and-claim prosperity gospel heretic, I would not consider him to be a Christian in any sense of the term. You may want to do some research on Benny Hinn, especially what is own brother Costi says and documents about him before rushing to his defense.
I agree. Why is it so easy for us to point fingers and find fault? Satan is the destroyer.
Let’s make sure we are on the restorer’s side. This is not to say we ignore the facts but that we realize except for the Grace of God there so I.
I appreciate what you’re saying but God does not condone Christians stealing and misleading the public. Many of these televangelists and pastors are living large off the money of their donors, many who are struggling. Often they use manipulative practices to get people to give money. We need to hold them accountable. To turn the other way because it may hurt others in the church is the wrong motivation. The church is hurt more when we allow evil in our own house to go unpunished.
Right now, thanks to Evangelicals supporting a corrupt president and administration, It is brought great reproach on the church that probably will not be able to be overcome when this administration is out. I’m ashamed of what the church I’ve been a member of for 60 years has become.
💯 @kathyjohnson!! And everyone else not making excuses or blaming the devil for the greed and corruption and deterred lives now deconstructing their faith bc of people who are fleecing the church and harming the lovely gospel of Jesus. How in the world can his grift and greed be excused by anyone?? Of course bc God still works in the hearts of us, and can bring good out of anything, some good has managed to follow. But how much damage has been done and at what cost? I too am terribly saddened by the evangelical church that I have been a part of my life of 60 years.
So what ministry did Hinn have? Bragging about fake healings and resurrections?, Threatening his critics? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fbHIX-ObGg Spreading the idea we are little gods? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4qxtyWS0oE Begging endlessly for money so he can live an extravagant lifestyle?
We need more discernment in the church because of people like him.
They can wait a few more years, get remarried atop the Temple Mount, and sell the streaming rights for, what, $666?
“Florida is a no-fault divorce state, which means a divorce can be granted if one party proves that the marriage is irretrievably broken.”
Huh? That seems self-contradicting.
How is it “no-fault” if one has to prove irreparable fault?
I am divorced in Texas where both parties simply agree to divorce without reason for a no-fault divorce.
God’s Word says “But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.”
Titus 2:1-8 ESV
Their lawyer says “They just got divorced. It was personal feelings. It was something personal to them, but they did what they felt was right.”
Can we all agree on who is right?
I would love to know how many copies of that $25 wedding video Hinn sold.
Sad. Just, really really sad.
Since Hinn is now divorced AGAIN (and it was not due to his wife’s adultery or abandonment), he is no longer biblically qualified to be a pastor or elder. Somehow I don’t think he will give that up.
Charles Mallet, I loathe how people always quote that divorce disqualifies a person from ministry because the scripture states a leader must be the husband of one wife. So let me ask you, is an ex-wife still a wife to the ex-husband with all the benefits of marriage? If the husband should marry again, does he have a new wife as in one, or is he still married to the ex and so now he has two wives? And if the wife should marry again, does she now have two husbands? That’s the way you are interpreting the scripture. Common sense will tell you he has only one wife and an ex who is no longer his wife. When Paul wrote this through the Holy Spirit, it wasn’t to disqualify people who have been divorced from ministry but to stop polygamy. Benny Hinn didn’t ask for the divorce. Suzanne filed both times. Sometimes things happen to people beyond their control. Spouses can change and there’s no control over it. Please just stop with the legalistic rhetoric.
Then there is bit about managing your household well for pastoral qualifications. With this divorce, one can see that Hinn failed in that regard as well. Try better next time. It is not legalistic. Either one is qualified or not. The criteria is listed in the pastoral epistles. This is no different that any other qualifications for any other position in the real world.
And yes, the VAST MAJORITY of pastors and elders are biblically unqualified. Which is why Christianity is a such a dumpster fire and has been for many centuries.
Try better next time.
Charles and John, how do you know adultery wasn’t committed? John, you say a divorced man didn’t manage his house well. Managing is about his children, not his wife. Tell me, does your wife like to be managed? According to your standards about living by the letter of the law all these people were unqualified, the prostitute Rahab, the Samaritan woman who was the first evangelist to tell about Jesus and the first person he revealed who he was to, Peter who denied Jesus three times the worst sin of all and then later denied him again in a sense because he stopped eating with the Gentiles, Paul with an anger problem who cut Mark off, but thankfully God did not and he wrote the Gospel of Mark. Then there was Ruth a Moabitess who according to the law (Deut. 23:3) could never enter into the assembly of the Lord even after the 10th generation. What about David? Under the law, he should have died, not his son. There’s Billy Graham, you would have disqualified him too because Franklin had a rebellious period. You forgot to factor in that God has mercy; he looks at the heart. To use your point about positions in the real world, I have interviewed hundreds of people and when I saw talent, I often overlooked the written qualifications. Can’t God do the same? And I absolutely disagree with you that Christianity is a dumpster fire. Where are you getting your facts from? Revivals are happening everywhere and there are many great pastors/churches. I hope you will try better.
Jesus said that anyone who divorces, except in the case of adultery, and marries another commits adultery. I would say that divorcees who are remarried are not qualified for ministry. They can do ministry if they stayed celibate after their divorce.
That bit about managing your household well comes into play. Kind of hard to do that when your household is broken up due to divorce. Then there is the bit about good reputation among outsiders and being above reproach.
Ichabod in the Bible means “no glory” or the “glory has departed” so this is what I feel about Benny Hinn and his ministry. They still pray together? There were no grounds for divorce this second time around. This is wrong and against God’s holy ordinance of marriage, and a very bad example to Christians, as well as non-Christians world wide. Ichabod Benny!
But they are still one flesh – until “death do them part.”
This is why televangelists and churches should have to pay taxes. The amount of money that this televangelist alone has taken from the ministry in just the last few years is astounding. Churches and ministries should also have to make their financials public. If you want to live large on the donations of your supporters, you should have the guts to tell them. Shame on any ministry or church that is abusing money especially now when the economy is so horrible. God is watching. And I’m going to do whatever I can to make this happen.
“Benny Hinn and Suzanne Hinn still love each other with a deep, profound soulmate type of love, and they always have for years and years and years. … They’re still very much in each other’s lives and will always be in each other’s lives.”
Celebrities who are getting divorced say this kind of thing all the time, as if it’s normal for people who love one another deeply and profoundly and are constantly involved in one another’s lives to get divorced.
You have to be pretty bad to get kicked off Daystar by Joni Lamb.
His ex-wife probably now thinks the only reason Benny Hinn wanted to get married the second time was to sell $25 DVDs.
If he treated his wife as poorly as he treated the Church, you can only imagine what she had to endure for so many years.
It is extremely rare for Christian couples to get divorced at their ages, especially ministers, so it had to be extremely bad for Mrs. Hinn.
The spin that they are good friends was a complete failure. Its intended purpose was solely to make Hinn not appear so awful his wife wanted to divorce him.
The claim that the devil ruined their marriage is weak because Hinn is the Alpha Male who controls the devil.
It does seem that Benny Hinn has a type, and if Mr. Hinn had any sort of love for his wife, deep, soulmate or otherwise, he would have not cheated on her. My life is no more righteous than anyone’s, and my sin no less offensive to our LORD, but there are statements and instructions that specifically dictate what makes a person (some say a man) ineligible for Elder or Deacon-ship, which can be interpreted as Ministry at Large. Some people even say “Avoid the appearance of evil,” and after lying about a relationship with the Vatican, and getting a woman the same type of relationship, and being caught in said lie, and being alleged in an inappropriate with that same woman, that all falls into needing to turn in your Leadership card, and live on your very large, amassed fortune.
Because Hinn is not subject to any governing authority in the church he can do what he wants and can interpret the Bible any way he wants too.
Herein lies the problem with the many ministries like his and the many churches where the buck stops at the head pastor.
Yet another episode of “LIFESTYLES OF THE RICH AND GODLY!”
Anybody else seen that YouTube music video of Benny Hinn in “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor”?
Or “The Force is Strong in Darth Hinn” where they photshopped a red lightsaber into the above video?
Because this guy’s a clown.
I saw those videos. Then one where he uses his jacket glowing like a light saber to slay people (complete with the Star Wars sound effects).
