After the unexpected recent death of Grammy-winning recording artist Mandisa, a celebration of life is being held in Tennessee this weekend that will also be livestreamed.

On April 18, Christian singer Mandisa Hundley was found deceased in her home in Nashville. The cause of death is still unknown one week later.

However, on April 22, a declaración from the Franklin Police Department (Tennessee) reported: “At this time, there is no indication the death was the result of suspicious or criminal activity.”

On Saturday, April 27, fellow artists, friends, and family will gather to remember the life of Mandisa in Brentwood, Tennessee.

For those who cannot attend in person, or for fans around the world, the funeral will also be able to be seen via live stream on the sitio web de la iglesia. The service starts at 11:00 a.m.

News of Mandisa’s death shocked many people, as love and support have poured in since the news.

Danny Gokey, also a former American Idol contestant, said he was devastated to hear about the sudden loss of Mandisa.

“Not only did we connect over being American Idol alumni—we had a great time on the road doing several tours together,” said Danny in a post on social media. “Her joy was infectious and I loved her heart to encourage people on & off stage! Mandisa you left too soon—our community will never be the same without you.”

Mandisa wrote about her struggles with depression in her book, Out of the Dark: My Journey through the Shadows to Find God’s Joy, released in 2022.

Other tributes have been posted by Natalie Grant, Jeremy Camp, Love & the Outcome, Britt Nicole, Zauntee, and even Broadway superstar Kristin Chenoweth.

“A voice from heaven. Now back in heaven,” says Chenoweth. “We will miss you Mandisa!”
