Christian conservatives will gather in Washington, D.C., from Sept. 15-17 to hear from speakers about issues of concern to them in the hopes of learning how to respond from a biblical worldview. Candidates for the Republican nominations for president will be attending, including former President Donald Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Previously called the Values Voter Summit, the Orar Votar Stand Cumbre is geared to “spiritually active, governance-engaged conservatives.” Hosted and sponsored by the Family Research Council led by Tony Perkins, six other organizations are also lead sponsors — including Evangelism Explosion International.
D. James Kennedy founded Evangelism Explosion in 1962 with a vision to see “every nation equipping every people group and every age group to witness to every person.”
How does a politically natured event like the Pray Vote Stand Summit align with its mission?
EE President John Sorensen said he sees the event as “a conference attended by people who love the USA, want to see revival, and are willing to take action, like pray and share the gospel.” He told MinisterioReloj that the Pray Vote Stand Summit fits with EE’s mission of equipping Christians to share their faith.

“We love our country and would like to see revival come to the USA,” he said. “And we believe that the most patriotic thing a person can do is lead a neighbor to Jesus.”
“Our focus during our time there will be to focus on sharing the gospel, in and through local churches. We will lift up a few examples of city-wide prayer and evangelism events that are seeing good fruit in a time when many Americans are interested in hearing about Jesus,” Sorensen said.
Questions about Christian involvement in government have long been debated. Of late, issues that “profoundly impact people’s well-being,” such as gender identity and permanently altering a child’s body through surgery, are being pushed through political means, former King’s College professor and author David Innes said.
He said these issues have awakened Christians to participate in politics because they are affecting Christians’ abilities to raise their children and be godly, productive people.
“This is not something we can set aside as politics any more than 150 years ago we could set aside abolitionism,” he told the hosts of the “Mortification of Spin” podcast. “You have to take a stand against this evil.”
“The Lord has given us the blessing of popular government. We have the privilege of taking a hand in the direction of our civic community,” Innes said.
In addition to being a sponsor of only the “educational portion” of the event, EE will host a breakout session along with the Center for Christian Statesmanship, another ministry started by Kennedy. It was formerly a part of EE but is now operated by D. James Kennedy ministries.
Sorensen said the event didn’t cost EE anything because its sponsorship costs were underwritten by a donor. He declined to share the price of the sponsorship, but online sponsorship information from the Family Research Council shows the costs as between $4,000 and $15,000. EE is also listed as an exhibitor at the Pray Vote Stand Summit. Exhibitors pay between $1,275 and $12,000 depending on the size and location of their booth.

Hard for me to see how a ministry devoted to evangelism could co-sponsor a political event that fosters political idolatry among Christian congregations. We live in strange times.
Agree… Trump was convicted of rape, according to the judge. And how is he going to enlighten us?
If past comment sections are a good indicator, peoples heads are going to pop over this group getting together to try to fix the cash flow issues these churches are now faced with (I have my popcorn ready, just in case). The same church business model they had been using in the US, is just starting to show up in Europe. Just like the NFL/NBA have switched to pushing their entertainment product in Europe, to tap into a new revenue stream to make up for what they lost when they started to push politics into the games. In a lot of Europe they do not circumcise, have never heard of prosperity gospel, have no comprehension of church propaganda techniques, do not have the same Evangelical view of the trinity, and are ripe for the picking.

1st you have to start teaching Jesus directly through His ministry/testimony, not talk about Jesus without referencing scripture. But therein lies the problem, teaching out of MMLJ will expose them, reduce how much power they hold over a person (and their wallet), alert some to what Jesus warns us about false teachers/leaders taking over the church system, and how these false leaders will not give up their fancy pants and lollipops.

Actually, Andrew, there has been no “start” to pushing politics into games. From Jesse Owens being sent to the Olympics, to Jackie Robinson integrating major league baseball, to the 1949 Sun Bowl controversy surrounding the integration of college football, to Texas Western starting 5 Black players in the NCAA tournament, to the 1968 Black Power salute at the Olympics, to Muhammad Ali (who is now praised for standing for his beliefs) dumping his gold medal and refusing to serve in Vietnam, to Magic Johnson’s 1992 announcment of his HIV status (and the league’s response), to choosing who can participate, host, or whether or not to attend the Olympics – sports and politics have ALWAYS been interwined.
It’s about comfort.
We only think the politics are being “pushed” when we are uncomfortable with the message or delivery. But if you look at pure historical data, you’ll see sports and politics have always gone hand in hand – with one reflecting and or forcing the other.
The leagues have expanded to Europe and Asia due to increased access to global talent, and increased interest in otherwise American-centric sports (e.g., jump in the number of European and Asian youth interested in basketball, growth in Mexican and British interest in American football, global sales of NFL/NBA jerseys, etc). This is due to technology, and is actually starting at the college level; look at the international students playing in the NCAA.
American evangelicals will welcome the antichrist with smiles and open arms as long as he has an R next to his name. They pretty much have already.

I see he ranked them in order of importance, with loving the USA at the top of the list.
If they insist on aligning themselves with Trump and Trumpism, their group will soon be known as Evangelism Implosion.
One step in the right direction would be to have this open to ALL who want to see Biblical revivial and are willing to take action – regardless of political affiliation. Otherwise it’s just more political idolotry wrapped up in Christianese.
I see one feel good advantage to the mixing of politics and religion for corrupt politicians’ Christian minions. They get to climb on their high horses and lecture the Christians who are looking for justice about love and forgiveness. As if when someone the minions love is hurt, robbed, raped or murdered they would run to the police and request the perpetrators not be charged with a crime.
People in cults cannot be reasoned out of their false beliefs, they need to be deprogrammed.
