Chart-topping Christian recording artist Jeremy Camp is asking fans for prayer about his surgery on Monday.

“It’s cardiac ablation,” Camp wrote on social media. “They’ll go through the veins in my leg and they help this thing called AFib. My heart is in a crazy rhythm and it’s affecting a lot of things.”

He added: “Tonight, I went into AFib on stage and had to cut the set short. That was difficult. It beats really really fast and I can’t breathe and it’s hard to function.”

Going into the surgery, Camp, known for radio hits like “Walk by Faith,” asks fans for one thing. “I ask for your prayers that everything goes well, that the doctors have wisdom, and that God would put His hand on the whole situation.”

He added in a comment posted later: “Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. Super thankful for you all!”

His wife, Adie Camp, wrote in a comment on the post: “With you every step of the way my babes. I love you so much.” Together, the two lead an evangelistic and outreach nonprofit group called Speaking Louder Ministries

Fans took to the comment section offering their prayers. “Praying for you. May God be with you and your family.” Another one said, “Praying! For your peace and His healing touch!”

Since 2004, Jeremy Camp has won six GMA Dove Awards and been named the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year four times. Four of his music albums have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying sales of at least 500,000 per title.

In 2020, the story of his early years was adapted as a motion picture titled I Still Believe, with popular star K.J. Apa (Riverdale) portraying Camp. The movie, from producers at Kingdom Story Company, won Inpirational Film of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
